Ever since I got my gifts from Brady and Laito this morning, it's been great. I was on air! On Cloud 9! What ever you want to put it that means happy. I never got this much attention on Valentine's Day especially from a guy or should I say plural guys and I love it! Even if it is the attention of potential killers but they like me so they are on my side. Well...except for Kanato. He's been more moody than usual today. He's like the old me back in America, the Grinch of Valentine's Day. Poor guy. I mean, you'd think he'd be beaming with all his fangirls confessing to him and giving him presents but, I guess that's more of Laito's thing.
I was actually fine working at the Host club. I got my groove on as I did my thing making the tea for everyone, my beautiful sons of guns also known as Nick Jonas and ZAYN blasting through my earbuds. Note to self: ALWAYS wear earbuds and your favorites playing when in the Host club. It boosts up your ability to endure the shit the Sakamaki pulls on you. I suddenly feel an arm wrap around my waist and I turn my volume down to hear muffled chuckling. Laito. I don't even try to shake him off.
"Someone seems happy today." He noted.
"Today's the most I ever gotten on Valentine's Day!" I tell him, stirring so sugar in the tenth tea cup I'll made.
"Is that so? A part of me finds this beautiful while the other wishes you were screaming at me for invading your personal space..."
"Well, you are a Laito so..." If I heard me say this yesterday, I would have barfed. It was My Little Pony Pinkie Pie cheerful. That bad.
"Right..." Fedora changes the subject. "So, what kind of dress will you be wearing for the dance?"
"Dance? What dance?" I wanted to know.
Laito's eye grew big in shock. "Oh? You don't know? This event is even bigger than Prom! Paparazzi is always all over it and it's passed around."
I knitted my brows. I was never much of a Japanese celebrity fan. Heck, I was never much of a American celebrity fan! I have a friend who keeps up with the gossip and that's enough for me.
Laito sighs, stepping back from me and rubbing his forehead. "Oh, I forgot you lived under a poorly managed rock."
"Hey!"
"You are going to be my date to the Host club dance in two weeks." Laito explained briefly.
"Wait...what?"
"Oh, honey. You are slower than a starving sloth! Every year in the spring the Host club will have a dance for our faithful guests. With a drawing for the special girl to get a dance with their Host of their choice--"
"Yeah, I don't care about that part. I'm talking about me being your date to this thing." I crossed my arms and glared at him. "So who said we were going together?"
Laito blinked, exasperated. "I just did! Are you even listening? Now, I was thinking we match with red and black--"
"No! I never had a say in this!" I exclaimed. "I never agreed to go with you and who said I even wanted to go with you?"
Laito laughed. What was so funny? This wasn't a laughing matter! "Oh, Kokoa-chan," He pets me. Pets! Me! "You never had to agree. This is an order!"
"What?! No, you can't!!" I begged.
"I can and I am!" Laito exclaimed, happily. "We'll go shopping for something to wear soon, I'll tell you when. I'll let you go with your work, bye~" Laito said that so quickly just so I couldn't response back to him. He waves at me as he quickly retreated.
I sigh and stared after him dumbfounded. Not even my music could help with this news.
Kanato's POV:
He heard what happened with Tikiyah and Laito and he didn't like it. Kanato was supposed to be the one to ask the chocolate girl to be his date to the Host Club dance and if she declined, order her to go anyways. Laito ruined his plans and if anyone thought the younger Sakamaki was mad throughout the school day, then he was beyond pissed now. He raged at Yui over his sock's lost mate, he snapped at everyone at the dinner table just because they were all too happy much to his disliking, and finally took everything out on his room and the several gifts unwanted.
Some Valentine's Day this is! Kanato scowled as he looked on into the town from the balcony. Yes, I got several presents from my fans but, none of it even compares to just one simple gift from her... Kanato groans and scratched the paint from off the balcony bars. "Stupid Laito! Stupid Reiji and Shu and Ayato--stupid anyone who took her attention away from me!" He yelled out at the early morning blue sky. "She's suppose to be mine! I know it! Teddy knows it, too! Why can't anyone see that!?" Kanato didn't want to but he did at the same time but, he might have to act on this violently.
"What are you doing up here by yourself?"
Kanato was sure that he had no heart but something started thumping at the sound of her voice in his chest. He sniffed as he slowly turned to face her. "...Screaming?"
Tikiyah chuckled dryly before coming over and giving Kanato a hug. He took it by surprise. "How about crying?"
I'm crying? Kanato thought dumbfounded.
"Valentine's is not your day?" Tikiyah asked pulling away to lean on the railings. Her damp, curly ear-length hair blew faintly in the breeze and the beginnings of a sunny day peaked on the horizon making her skin appear gold. It took Kanato's breath away.
"Y-yes..." Kanato replied, trying not to stare. "Although...this time around, it seems worse than I remembered it to be." Probably because you're here now...I never felt this way for anyone, a complete oblivious human at that!
"I use to be like that. Mad and lonely on Valentine's Day." Tikiyah stated, looking at the early morning sky before turning back to him who absent-minded closed some of the distance between them. The girl didn't seem to mind that their hands touched a bit on railings. "I had no Valentine until I came here and met you and your brothers. You all became my Valentine."
Even Shu? Kanato wondered. The eldest Sakamaki was a potato, a music loving potato. He'd be amaze that even he actually took the time out to look for a gift for a girl, if it wasn't Tikiyah. The purple haired boy lowered his gaze. "Except for me...I never gave you anything...I wanted to but..." But what? You were being too jealous to go buy a present? Kanato shuts out that contradicting thought.
"It's fine. You actually being nice to me is plenty of Valentine's present." Tikiyah remarked...or at least he thought it was a remark. When was he ever not nice to her?
Tikiyah shrugged, "Besides, it's not like I got you anything."
"You don't have to get me anything..." Kanato reassured her. Maybe expect your undivided attention and unwavering love and affection. "You just being here and helping us is good enough."
Tikiyah stared at him. "You are acting too nice right now and too innocent."
"Nice enough for a little...kiss?" He dared to ask, biting his lip. "I-I'm mean...it could work as a gift..." He appalled and blushed. "I-I mean..."
Tikiyah chuckled and kissed Kanato him on the cheek. Her lips lingered on his cold cheek for a moment and his heart thumped rapidly at her touch. A surge of joy rushed through him as he realized that he was the first Tikiyah willingly kissed.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Kanato." Tikiyah murmured as she pulled away from him.
Kanato stared at her and her lips. She's just so beautiful...like a doll. He wanted to give her something special as a kiss. A kiss for a kiss, he decided on. So, he nervously went in for one of his own, eyes closed. One on her lips...and Tikiyah didn't seem like she pulled away....they were just centimeters away, he could feel her warm breath fanning him...
"Well, well, well, what did I just stumble upon?" An all too familiar sickly sweet voice cuts in. The moment was over.
