Ryan's hand grabs Jace's as he dies.

Not only has he lost the girl of his dreams that he so helplessly fell in love with, he lost his best friend too.

Ryan was never one to believe in God. But he closed his eyes as he silently prayed he would get them both back.

He looks at his dead best friend, "Amen."

Like magic, the monitor started to beep rapidly.

Jace's hand tightens around his best friends as his eyes slowly open.

"She's pregnant?" Jace whispers.

"You're alive! Oh my God!" Ryan jumps up and hugs his friend tightly.

"Ryan, get off of me and tell me!" Jace's irritated voice gets louder. "Is she really pregnant?"

Ryan looks down in shame and nods his head.

Jace runs his hands through his hair and shouts in rage. "Why weren't you watching her?"

"I tried man! I know she hasn't been eating much so I went and got her food." He shakes his head. "Jace, I don't think she cares about this baby as much as she needs to. She's been so worried about you. She won't even talk about the baby."

"We'll get back to that. Call Chelsea. I want to see my daughter." Jace waves his hand at Ryan in dismissal.

Once Ryan is out of the room Jace bursts into tears.

All the things going through his head is killing him. He can't believe Arielle wouldn't be treating their baby well. She has to be at least 2 or 3 months pregnant. If she stresses or worries too much she could lose the baby.

If the person who took her hurts her too much he loses the love of his life and his baby.

He can't lose them.

Outside of Jace's hospital room, Ryan ends his call with Chelsea and sinks down on the wall.

His phone vibrates with a text message from Arielle and he jumps straight back up.

After reading the message, he immediately starts trying to track her phone.
