*4 months later*
"I love all the gifts, you guys." I smile at all of my friends.
Today is my baby shower. All of my friends are here and got me wonderful gifts for the baby. I'm so excited to have my baby here and hold him or her. Jace and I decided we don't want to know the sex. Everything we've got for the baby is yellow and grey to match the nursery.
It's also been 4 months since Ryan's death. His funeral was so beautiful and we miss him so much. I hate that he isn't here to see the baby. I hate that he isn't here constantly bugging me about eating or not picking Emma up to much because it might hurt the baby. Jace misses him so much. They were so close and I don't know how to help him after all that's happened.
I say goodbye to all of my friends and get ready for my doctor's appointment.
"Ready, baby?" Jace asks as we enter the doctor's room.
I nod and we go in.
"You must be Arielle." A doctor comes in and smiles at us. "I'm Dr. Creston."
"Hello." I greet.
"How have you been feeling lately?" She asks politely.
"I've been great. The baby is learning to kick." I smile and rub my baby bump.
"That's good, any more morning sickness?"
"A little." I frown.
She giggles. "That's perfectly fine."
She asks more questions and instructs me to lie back so she can see the baby.
"Oh." She gasps.
Instantly, I freak out. "What? What's wrong?"
She turns to me and smiles sympathetically. "It's twins."
Jace and I both smile huge smiles.
She turns back to the monitor and frowns. "The only problem is that one is very small."
"What do you mean?" I whisper.
"One of the babies seems like it almost fully developed, like it's almost ready to be born."
"What does that mean for the other one?" Jace asks.
"I'm not sure. We'll have to do more tests." She frowns. "I'm sorry but I wouldn't get your hopes up on having two babies, Ms. Crawford."
