Bella and Stan were working on the portal down in the basement. Bella was looking at the controls, trying to logic her way through it.
"Ugh, this don't make any sense," she groaned, leaning on her hands. "Ah can' figure this out."
"Hey, it's fine," Stan assured. "Maybe we could get some physics books from the library."
"Yeah... Ah guess," Bella sighed. "Fidds was always smarter than me. Ah could never pay attention in school."
"Heh... that's how it was with me and Ford," Stan chuckled sadly. Bella smiled slightly and stood up.
"Come on, let's head ta the library," she said. "We might just be able ta find somethin'."
-----
After looking around the library for an hour or two, Stan and Bella left with a bag full of books.
"Alright, we got every physics book we could find," Stan said. "I guess we should start studying."
As he spoke, Bella's stomach grumbled loudly. She smiled sheepishly at Stan.
"Do y'think we could get some lunch first?" She asked. "Ah didn' eat much this mornin'."
"Yeah, let's go to the diner," Stan nodded. The two of them walked to the diner and sat down in a booth. Bella set her backpack down next to her as the waitress, Susan, came over to take their orders.
"What can I get for you?" She asked, grinning. Bella looked up to order and saw that Susan's eye was shut.
"Oh Susan, what happened to yer eye?" Bella gasped. Stan quickly looked over at her and made a motion telling her to stop talking, but Bella didn't see.
"I got zapped by some science box thingy when this guy gave people a tour around his house," Susan said, rolling her good eye and pointing her thumb at Stan.
"I didn't think it would be permanent!" Stan exclaimed.
"Susan, could ya come back in a few minutes?" Bella asked. "Ah need ta talk to Stan."
Susan nodded and walked off to take orders from some other people.
"Ya turned the shack into a tour?" Bella hissed quietly, glaring at Stan.
"I needed a way to make money!" Stan argued. "People were asking for tours so I just went with it."
"Stan, there's so much dangerous stuff in that place," Bella worried. "Yer lucky that 'science box' only zapped Susan's eyelid."
"I know, I've been fixing it up a bit," Stan assured. "I moved everything dangerous down to the basement."
"No wonder it looked so different," Bella mumbled, resting her head in her hand. Her other hand toyed with the string on her jacket. "Just... promise me you'll be careful, ok? Ah don' want ya gettin' hurt."
Stan blushed slightly and awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.
"Yeah... sure," he said. "I'll be fine."
"Good," Bella sighed. "What did you name this tourist trap'a yers?"
"The Murder Hut," Stan grinned proudly. "Although I am thinking of changing the name."
