Bella stepped out of the elevator as it came to a stop. Ford turned away from his work at the noise and faced her.
"Bella, what are you doing down here?" He asked, quickly pulling a curtain shut.
"I just... wanted to talk, I guess," Bella answered quietly.
"It's far too dangerous for you to be down here," Ford warned. Bella scoffed.
"Need I remind you that I spent a year down here while the portal was being built?" She asked, folding her arms.
"...Right, right," Ford murmured. "My apologies. What is it you wanted to talk about?"
"I dunno," Bella shrugged. "It's been a while since I saw you. I've missed you."
"Heh, I've missed you as well," Ford chuckled.
"So, watcha doin'?" Bella asked, walking over to the desk.
"Oh, just cleaning up a bit, making sure Stanley didn't, you know, endanger the universe," Ford explained bitterly. Bella glanced away and around the oh-so familiar room.
"...He really missed ya, y'know."
"Hm?" Ford looked at her.
"Stan," Bella spoke. "He worked really hard to get ya back. An' really tried to do it safely."
"Yes, but he didn't, did he?" Ford growled. "It was completely idiotic for him to even attempt to reopen the portal."
"So you're calling me an idiot too, then?" Bella asked angrily.
"No I'm not," Ford argued. "He's the one that decided to try and fix it. Although I won't deny that it was foolish to go along with him."
"I went along with Stan because I wanted one'a my best friends back!" Bella snapped. "An' he wanted his brother back! He cares about you!"
"If he really cared about me, he wouldn't have destroyed my chances to go to West Coast Tech!" Ford shouted.
"Oh for fuck's sake!" Bella groaned. "Get over it! You had a great life without that college- you still ended up doing what you wanted!"
"That doesn't diminish the fact that he could have thought of someone other than himself," Ford spat.
"It. Was. An. Accident! You! Dimwit!" Bella yelled.
"If it was an accident he would have told me!" Ford yelled back.
"WELL MAYBE HE WAS SCARED YOU'D BE MAD!"
The door slammed shut as Bella left the basement.
-----
"Listen Ford, I want to stay friends with you. But I'm not gonna stand fer any badmouthin' of my husband. So how's about we just stay away from talkin' about Stan? Just... don' mention him."
"Alright. Sounds like a plan."
"Cool."

The next day, Stan, Bella, Dipper, and Mabel were relaxing in the gift shop. Mabel, who was laying on the floor, blew an empty snack bag into the air. It slowly drifted down to the floor.
"I just ate a bag of Cheese Boodles without using my hands," Mabel said. "Lazy Tuesday, you are delivering in a big way!"
"Heh, yeah," Stan agreed. "It's nice to have a day where nothing interesting happens whatsoev-"
A giant explosion came from the vending machine as it slammed open. Ford stood in the doorway, a small tentacled monster wrapped around his wrist. The twins screamed.
