AN: There's (obviously) some drug use in this chapter. I did some Googling, and apparently being high helps people with ADHD (like Bella) focus and can help them do better in school. Of course, Bella in this universe doesn't know she has ADHD, but she does know that, somehow, she can focus better when high.
College (18)
Bella sighed as she opened her eyes, squinting angrily at her roommate's alarm clock. Her roommate clicked it off and quickly got up, finishing dressing in the time it took Bella to sit up.
"How do ya do that?" Bella asked.
"Hm? Do what?" Liz asked, running a brush through her hair.
"Get up out'a bed right away," Bella rolled her eyes, slipping her glasses over them. "It's weird."
Liz shrugged and continued brushing her hair. Once she finished, she pulled it up into a ponytail. Bella got dressed and lit a joint, slowly breathing out and grinning. Liz grimaced and wrinkled her nose at the scent.
"Do you have to do that?" She asked. "You just woke up, and we have class soon."
"Hey, it helps me focus, an' Ah have some studyin' ta do," Bella argued, laying back on her bed. "Ah've been gettin' better grades since Ah started doin' it."
"Actually, studies have shown that, while high, your concentration and memory decreases," Liz corrected. Bella shrugged.
"Not me, man," she said. "My focus and memory is always decreased. This stuff does the opposite."
"Whatever. Ruin your grades, why should I care?" Liz shook her head. She grabbed her bag, heading towards the door. "I'm going out for breakfast."
"Bring back some ice cream?" Bella asked.
"It's eight in the morning."
"We're all out," the girl smiled. "And ice cream is the best breakfast."
Liz rolled her eyes.
"Sure, fine," she replied, leaving the room and closing the door behind her. Bella laid in bed for awhile longer before getting up and pouring herself some milk.

"This whole 'boys and girls not allowed in each other's' dorms thin' is some dumb ass shit," Bella said, setting her bag on the floor of the library. "Ah hate havin' ta go here whenever we wanna study."
"It is rather a hassle," Fiddleford agreed. He sniffed and looked at Bella in mock offence. "Ya got high without me?"
"Hey man, it helps me focus," Bella shrugged.
"Actually, there have been studies-" Ford began.
"Shut it, Ah heard it from Liz this mornin' already," Bella glared. "An' Ah don' care what y'all say, it ain't true fer me."
"Hm," Ford said. "Well, that girl has a good head on her shoulders, at least."
"Why don' we just get ta studyin'?" Fiddleford suggested. "A'fore ya both start yellin'."
"I wouldn't have started yelling," Ford pouted.
"Bella has a tendency ta get people yellin' when she starts," Fiddleford explained.
"It's true," Bella shrugged again. "Anyways, Ah agree! Let's get studyin'."
-----
"Ah man, that's better."
Fiddleford sighed and sat back against the wall. Bella grinned, laying her head across his lap and exhaling.
"Man, Ah can' wait ta get outta here," she said. "Why'd I let ya talk me inta goin' to college?"
"Ah said it would help ya become a published author," Fiddleford responded.
"...fuck you," Bella laughed. Fiddleford laughed as well. "Soooo... what's up? Got any crushes here at Hell?"
Fiddleford blushed and chuckled.
"Er- maybe. Ah ain't sure yet," he responded.
"Oooh, who is it? Spill!" Bella urged. "Is it that cute girl that always sits near us when we go out fer lunch?"
"N-no, not her," Fiddleford shook his head. "Um- Ah kinda like Stanferd, Ah think? Like Ah said, Ah ain't sure yet."
"Ooh! You guys would be adorable!" Bella giggled. "Ah don' really have anyone yet- it's definitely not Liz. Maybe that guy in my creative writing club? He's smart and really nice. And- get this- he's not an ass!"
"He's alrigh' with gay people?"
"Hell yeah, man!" Bella confirmed. "He even said Ah was brave ta use a same-sex couple in mah story. He enjoyed it!"
"Maybe ya should ask him out," Fiddleford suggested.
"Hm. Maybe," Bella looked thoughtful, and then grinned. "Ah will if you ask out Stanferd!"
