"Thanks fer helpin' me move in to my dorm, Fidds."
"Ah course," Fiddleford set the last box down at the foot of the bed. "What're friends for?"
"You're askin' me, the girl who's had one friend her entire life?" Bella asked jokingly, placing her hands on her waist.
"Nah, you've had more than that," Fiddleford said. "What about those girls ya met when we were ten?"
"It's a joke," Bella deadpanned. "C'mon, let's get you moved in to your dorm."
The two friends left Bella's dorm, with said girl pushing the dolly in front of her. After piling two boxes on the dolly and Fiddleford picking up a third box, they made their way back up to the hall. Fiddleford's dorm was down the hall from Bella's, and the girl's eyes were drawn to the number on her door, 611, which was the same date as her birthday. She grinned at the pretty awesome coincidence.
"Bella, could ya knock fer me?" Fiddleford asked. "Ah can't get to my keys right now."
Bella nodded and reached forward to knock on the door. The number on it read 618.
This door is also a Gemini, Bella thought jokingly to herself. A moment later the door was opened by Fiddleford's roommate. He was just about as tall as Fiddleford, his hair was dark brown, and he wore a dark red sweater.
"Howdy," Fiddleford greeted. "Ah believe this is my dorm?"
"Oh, alright," the man moved aside and folded his hands behind his back. Fiddleford and Bella entered the dorm. "I figured I'd take the right bed, if that's ok with you."
"Sure is," Fiddleford nodded and set the box he was carrying down by the left bed. Bella looked around the dorm room as Fiddleford turned to introduce himself to his roommate. The room wasn't decorated that differently than hers. There was two beds, a bare bookshelf, a dead plant, and a small kitchen area. She stomped on a cockroach as it scuttled across the floor. "Name's Fiddleford McGucket. This here's mah friend, Bella."
Bella looked up and nodded at the man. He nodded back and reached out to shake Fiddleford's extended hand.
"Nice to meet you," the man said. "I'm Stanford Pines."
"Pleasure ta meet ya, Stanferd," Fiddleford smiled. He looked down at Ford's hand in confusion. "Pardon, but do you got-?"
"Six fingers?" Ford sighed and showed off his hand.
"Oh oh, I remember that one!" Bella spoke suddenly. "It's uh..." she snapped her fingers by her ear multiple times, clearly thinking hard, "poly-something."
"Polydactyly," Fiddleford supplied.
"I knew it," Bella smiled proudly.
"You... you both know what it's called?" Ford asked in surprise.
"Ah read about it somewhere," Fiddleford explained.
"And I love that kind of weird, out-of-the-norm kinda stuff," Bella added. "Reminds me of, well, me!"
"Oh. Well, thank you," Ford said. "People don't usually take it well."
"Don' see why they wouldn't," Fiddleford shrugged. "Anyway, we've gotta finish gettin' me moved in. Nice ta meet ya, Stanford. I hope we get along well."
"Yeah, would suck if you can't stand yer roommate," Bella agreed, following her best friend out of the room.
