Steven woke up the next morning surprised to see Pearl asleep on his couch. I guess she didn't like her room, he thought.

Pearl laid sprawled out on the couch. She was drooling a little in her sleep. She didn't seem to be dreaming about anything since no holograms could be seen coming from her gem.

Steven sighed. She looked tired, even when sleeping. Bags were visible under her eyes and her fists were clenched shut. Steven looked around and grabbed a blanket from the closet, carefully laying it over the unconscious gem.

Hearing the sounds of his stomach rumbling, Steven walked down to the Big Donut.

"Morning Steven," Sadie greeted him. She had just been opening up.

"Hey Sadie," Steven said dejectedly, "One donut please."

"Sure thing," Sadie reached over to get his order, "Are you alright? You seem upset."

"I'm fine," Steven smiled at her, taking the bag and handing her a wad of money, "Thanks."

"See ya Steven," Sadie sighed as he left.

When he got back Steven saw Amethyst sitting on the floor, staring at Pearl. She didn't seem to notice him walk in.

"Hey," Steven broke the silence. Amethyst jumped at the noise.

"Oh, hey Steven," Amethyst said half heartedly, "What're you doing up so early?"

"It's eleven o'clock," Steven said, sounding confused.

"Oh right," Amethyst laughed a little before falling back into her slumped saddened expression.

"Are you ok?" Steven asked.

"I'm fine," Amethyst said, "Really. Pearl'll get here memory back any time now. We just have to wait." She almost seemed to be talking to herself.

"You know you can talk about it if you need to," Steven said, "You don't have to keep it all bottled up."

"I'm alright," Amethyst gave him a smile, "Whatcha got there?"

"Doughnut," Steven held up the bag, "You want some?"

"Nah," Amethyst stood up, "I'm not hungry."

"But you're always hungry," Steven looked at her concerned.

Amethyst groaned, "You don't have to worry about me you know. I'm gonna take a nap."

"No you aren't," Garnet said as she walked out of her room from the temple, "We are all going to wait for Pearl to wake up and address the issues at hand."

"Count me out," Amethyst crossed her arms, "Wake me up if anything interesting happens." She walked away into her room.

Garnet sighed and continued in a slightly annoyed tone, "It would be nice if she would at least try to help."
