Lucas - Hey sunshine
Riley - Lucas, you really have to stop sneaking up on me.
Lucas - Sorry. Can I come in?
Riley nods as she's moving to the side to let Lucas in
Riley - You know, it's pretty late.
Lucas - I'm sorry, I know your bed time is 7:30
Riley - Don't do it again
Riley and Lucas share a smile
Riley - So what's up?
Lucas - What happened at school today?
Riley - What do you mean?
Lucas - I saw you crying when walking out of the bathroom.
Silence
Lucas - What's the one thing that I ever asked from you?
Riley - No more secrets
Lucas - So. What happened at school today?
Riley - I was in the stall and I heard some girls talking about how, I "begged" Mark to, you know, and how I wanted it to happen. I just want attention, Marks a really good guy. Basically everyone thinks I'm lying.
Lucas - You know. I really want to beat someone up.
Riley - But you're not going to because
"I'm/you're a secured western hero"
Riley and Lucas say this at the same time. They laugh, Riley puts her head on Lucas shoulder.
Riley - I'm tired
Lucas - I know it's pretty late do you want me to let you sleep?
Riley - No, not that. I am tired. I'm exhausted of all of this. I just want it to be over.
Lucas - I know Riley. I see the pain in your eyes and I just wish I could do something to take it all away.
Riley sighs. They sit there for a while. In silence. They didn't need to talk because they knew that the both of them, didn't know what to say anymore.
Lucas - I care about you Riley. You made me such a better person. You made me believe in hope. And that is exactly why I know that this will all go away very soon. We are going to win this thing, we are going to get you back to yourself, and we are all going to be happy again.
Riley - I did that
Lucas - Yes you did. And for that, I thank you.
Lucas gives Riley a kiss on the cheek and is halfway out the bay window
Lucas - Goodnight sunshine
Riley - Goodnight western hero
Riley gets into bed. It takes her a while to fall asleep, but she finally does. She hears a noise, but she ignores it after she gets out of bed and checks to see what it is. As she is walking back into her room, almost to her bed, she feels something on her face. A rag, with what smelled weird. Chloroform. She passes out almost immediately.
