HER ONE NIGHT STAND

THE REVELATION

The past few weeks had gone by in a rush. With the help of the real estate broker Myra had rented a new flat in a respectable neighbourhood. Her mother had arrived to help her settle in .Luckily she had gone back after a week so she had no reasons to know of Myra's condition.
Myra had started going to the Gynaecologist regularly and taking her medicines properly. At present she was trying to balance her work life with her condition.There was no doubt in her mind that she would keep the baby and not abort it.
Since it was the initial few months she was not showing. But for how long?
The next and most difficult decision of Myra's life was to tell Ritwik of this pregnancy or not. How would he react?. She knew that the truth would come out because they were connected by family. Jiya had gone for a two month honeymoon to the Carribean but would be back by the end of the week.
Myra was preparing herself to speak to Ritwik before Jiya's arrival. She scheduled an appointment for Friday to meet Ritwik.

Ritwik Singhania had missed Myra. She was special and the night with her had been fantastic but she was also family and he had to be careful about this conection.She wanted to meet him so maybe it was a good sign that she wanted to renew their aquaintance.

Myra was nervous. She hadn't slept the entire night trying to devise ways to break this news to him

"Come on in Myra. Why did you ask for an appointment? You are family so you could have come directly to me. Is the flat Ok? "

"Yes"

"Any problems with Jatin then?"

"No, he has not bothered me ever since that day."

"Then why did you come. ? You mentioned it was urgent"

"I just don't know what to say and how to say", saying this Myra started to cry.

Ritwik couldn't handle women who cried. Still he went to her and offered a handkerchief."Honey, what's wrong? You can confide in me?"

She decided to blurt it straight away. There was no other option."Ritwik I am pregnant."

"Whoa, what?"

"You heard what I said. I am pregnant and the baby is yours. You are the only man I have slept with so there should be no doubt. Still if you want we can have a DNA test done when the baby is born"

Ritwik's face turned pale. Never in his life had he imagined this situation. He knew Myra was not lying because he had slept with a virgin. But this was too much too soon.

Myra looked at Ritwik's face and imagined the worst.

"Ritwik I don't need anything from you. I just needed to inform you about the baby. I earn quite well. I have a nice small home. I can easily raise this child."

"You mean to say that I will have no right in this child's life."

"No, you are welcome to meet the child whenever you want to. I will never stop you."

"You mean to say that I will be a weekend dad or a vacation dad meeting my child on Diwali and so on." He was furious. First she dropped a bomb in his peaceful life and then she presumed that he would not want to be a part of his child life.

"Myra this is neither the time nor the place to discuss this serious matter. You go home. I will meet you there at 7PM in the evening and then we will discuss the situation."

"What is there to discuss. I will let you in my child's life and do not expect any financial assistance. There is nothing more to discuss."

"Myra just keep quiet. I will meet you in the evening. Should my driver drop you home?"

"I am driving my car and going straight to my office right now. Thanks for your time Mr Singhania "saying this Myra left his office. Though she had not expected much still she was disappointed with Ritwik's behavior. He at least should have listened to her properly before bossing her around. Still he trusted her so she felt something positive come out of this meeting.
