a year ago
When would David and I announce that we were dating? Online? To our friends? Had David already told everyone? Should I tell Gabbie? Will she remember what she said to me last night? Will people approve? Will I get hate? Will David get hate?
I sat up in bed as my anxiety slowly rose.
It's okay, David is okay, I'm okay, my friends are okay. Everything is okay.
I lie back down and closed my eyes. Everything is okay.
A few hours later I drove to Gabbie's house and told her all the details as we sat on her living room floor.
"LIZA! OMG!" I laughed at her enthusiasm.
"What the heck?! How do you have a boyfriend after living here for a year? I can't get anyone after living her for years and years!" We both laughed again.
Just then someone's phone rang. It was Gabbie and the caller ID was David. I smiled. She put a finger up to her lips and hit speaker.
"Hello?" Gabbie said smiling. I caught on to her plan and sat still.
"Hey Gab, what are you doing now?"
David said through the phone.
"Oh nothing, just at home."
"Oh really? Well then maybe I can come over-"
"NO!" Gabbie screamed interrupting David, "I mean no, that's um, that's not a good idea."
David laughed confused, "Okay? Um i'll just tell you then, I asked Liza to be my girlfriend last night."
Gabbie smiled and looked up at me. My cheeks grew hot.
"Oh really? What did she say?"
"She said yes!"
"Congrats Dav! You finally have a girlfriend!" Gabbie said laughing.
"Hey, really thanks for introducing me to her, I really like her a lot.. She just makes me really happy, I dunno I've just never felt this way about someone." My cheeks flushed again and I smiled even bigger. He made me happy too.
"Hey David-"
"Gabbie I'm outside your door let me in."
"Okay well Liza is in here," We both burst out laughing.
"Oh! Um, she didn't hear that did she?"
"Every bit."
"Oh!" He laughed, "Hey Lizaaa. Let me in Gabbie!"
Gabbie hung up and walked to the door and let in a very handsome David. I smiled at him and he smiled at me.
Everything was okay.
