***Simone's POV***

I ran into biology class just after everyone had already settled down.

"Hurry and find a seat Miss Channer". Mr. Allen said. I hurriedly took a seat in the middle of the class and took out my books.

Mr. Allen went on and on, drowning us with the digestion process. How boring can one teacher be? It was like I'm attending a funeral service.

A sweet scent played with my nostrils. I had no idea I was sitting directly in front of Davia until she started using her expensive cologne. She's such a show off.
I turned around to face her and whispered, "Will you quit embalming your body so I can pay attention? Some of us have to actually learn so we can pass our exams. Not all of us can have our dads pay off our teachers like your dad does."

She started fuming. I'm getting her angry. Well she already hates me so I have nothing to lose.

"You don't want to get on my bad side Channer! " she retorted.

"Oh. You have a good side? Where do you keep it?" I just knew what to say to push her buttons.

"You're such a bit-" she stopped in mid-sentence, probably realizing that she was talking really loud in the very quiet class.

"Miss Prince. Do you have something you would like to share with the class?" Mr. Allen questioned.

"Uhm. No sir. I was just about to tell Simone that she's a beautiful girl and any guy would want to take her to the ball."

What a blatant liar.

"Ok Miss Prince. Less ball. More biology."  Mr Allen returned to teaching the class.

"This is far from over, Simone." she said in an evil tone. I turned around but could still feel her eyes shooting daggers at my head.

This is far from over. What is she planning in her devious little head. I can't wait to find out.

The first two classes passed by in a blur. And soon it was lunch time.

I scanned the school's lunch room looking for Josh's black hair. I didn't see him so I went and sat down at our usual table. It was unusual for Josh to miss lunch. 'Maybe he has detention for the first time in his life.' I thought to myself.

I stared down at my lunch. Fried dumplings and fish with orange juice. As I was about to dig in, someone slammed their tray down at my table.
I looked up to see the devil's sister hovering over me.

"Hey Simone. You're going to get really fat if you don't watch what you eat." Davia looked at my lunch scornfully.

"Will you quit stalking me." I started eating, ignoring her.

"So who's your date" she asked.

I looked around dramatically. "Are you talking to me?"

"Yes dummy." She said.

"Why do you care who I go with? It's none of your business."

She smiled. "I know it's not my business but you're going to need someone to catch you after you faint."

I was intrigued. "And why would I faint?"

"Because I'm going to reclaim my valentine's queen title, my boyfriend will be king.....yet another year. 4 for me. 0 for you." She whipped her long brown hair and strolled away leaving her expensive odor behind.

She keeps score on everything, both academic and social. Its like she's in a continuous competition with me.

I ate my lunch and headed to English class. Josh and I had this class together. I cant wait to argue with him for not having lunch with me today.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked as I sat beside him. "Are you on a diet you didn't tell me about?"
He would usually have something comical to say but today he had a blank expression that I couldn't decipher. He hated English but he seems to be paying keen attention today. He kept his eyes glued at the teacher.
"Josh?" I tried talking to him again.
"I'm okay Sim." He said, clearly not in the mood to talk.
"Are we still on for game night tomorrow?" He asked when the class was almost over.

"S-sure." I replied. I don't know what's wrong with Josh but I intended to find out. I hope I don't miss our game night. Ill talk to Trey about it. I'm sure he'll give me the evening off to be with my best friend.

********
I waited until the school was almost empty before I left to meet Trey. I walked to the alley between school and an old abandoned building as fast as I could. I glanced behind me every once in a while to see if I was being followed.
I scanned the alley but didn't see Trey. I was about to leave when he came out of hiding and laughed.

"That's not funny Trey." I said. "I thought you set me up."

"Now why would I do that?" he came over to me and wasted no time crashing his lips on mine. "I miss you." He mumbled, pulling me closer to him and deepening the kiss.

I was in heaven.

We stopped to catch our breath for a brief moment. It wasn't long before our tongues started battling each other again.

My phone started beeping and I pulled away from Trey.
"Please don't stop." He whined. "I only get to see you for a short while each day."

I initiated another kiss.

"I'll just check it really quick " I said as I retrieved my cellphone from my pocket. It was a text from Josh.

Josh: hey Sim. Where are you?

Me: I'm at the library doing some extensive reading.

I hated lying to Josh.

"So.....who is it?" Trey enquired.

"Its Josh." I told him. "He just wants to know where I am. I told him I'm at the library."

"Why don't you just tell him about us?" he asked, running his hands through his wavy black hair.

"I'm not ready yet. I'm waiting for the perfect moment. Maybe I'll tell him tomorrow. I'm spending the evening with him. "

Trey nodded.

I thought he would at least be a little jealous but he seems to be ok with it.

"What family matters were you taking care of yesterday?" I asked as I remembered his text.

"Lets not talk about that. Right now its about us. Nothing else matters." He said before taking me to heaven again.
