Chapter 33

***Simone's POV ***

It has been a week since Trey has been arrested.
My mom and Ramon's mom testified against him in court and he confessed to killing Samantha after the police found his car. His marriage to Daisy was annulled so he couldn't afford a good lawyer. I can't believe that after everything he did I was still feeling sorry for him.

I still can't believe I was in love with my sister's killer. How could I have been so blind to not see the signs.

My parents were angry when they found out I was seeing Trey but they decided not to punish me.

I took a deep breath. Our whole relationship has been a lie? Every touch......every romantic date........every time I would catch him staring at me. He must have liked me.....at least a little.

I jumped when my phone beeped.

Ramon: I hope you're not talking to yourself again.

I smiled.

Me: Why wouldn't I be?

Ramon: Wish you could see me rolling my eyes. Btw....... We're going out tonight.

Me: Where?

Ramon: Nowhere romantic. Just a bunch of us from school will be hanging out.......don't worry about being the odd one out. Josh and his girlfriend will be there too.

I still can't wrap my head around the idea of Josh and Davia being a couple. It's just too weird. What does Davia see in him......not that he isn't a great guy but.....they're just not a good match. Josh is sweet but Davia is pure evil. I don't trust her.

After Trey's arrest she approached me at school one day asking if we could just put everything behind us and be friends for Samantha's sake. I told her yes but I'm still keeping my eyes on her.

I took a deep breath as I got dressed. I still can't believe I'm going to sneak out to visit Trey this morning. It's like there's something pulling me towards him and I can't resist it. I'll just pay him a quick visit before I go to school. No one has to know.

I got dress in a casual summer dress and bounced downstairs to enjoy my breakfast that my mom has prepared. After Samantha's murder was solved, my dad went back to work and would be gone for six months so now its just me and my mom.

I turned on the TV and started watching a rerun of Gossip Girl while we ate our breakfast.

"So....any plans tonight?" My mom asked as she took a bite of her egg.

"Hmmmm....yeah. I have a date tonight with Ramon."

"Oh." She sat up straight with a curious look in her eyes. "He's hot."

"Jeez Mom!"

"What? Can't I use my eyes anymore? He's a sexy guy with great abs." She winked at me.

"Ok. That's it! I'm going to school." I tried to get away from her as quickly as possible.

"Love you honey. Enjoy your day." I heard her say as I neared the door.

"Love you Mom." I said over my shoulder and closed the door before she could torture me anymore. I don't know what's gotten into her these days.

"Who are you here to visit?" The officer at the front desk asked me.

"T-Trey...." I told him shakily.

He smiled as he gave me the sheet of paper to sign. "Wow. Two visitors on the same morning. What a lucky fellow."
