***Simone's POV***
After Josh got out we drove in silence. I didn't know to react being around Trey and not having to be in hiding so I took out my math book to go over a few problems.
I smiled at my new freedom. I didn't have to hide anymore and I could finally kiss the alley goodbye.
I looked over at Trey, his arm muscles glistening in the fading sunlight. With one graceful move Trey slid one of his hand off the steering wheel and turned the radio on. We listened to Richie Spice's 'Grooving my girl' as my house came into view.Still not saying a word to me, Trey brought the car to a halt in the garage. We sat there in silence as the sound of the engine died down. Trey turned to me with a stern look on his face.
"So. You've been giving me the silent treatment for the whole ride." He stated looking into my eyes.
I didn't know what to think or what to say.
"What? I wasn't -"
"And you're going to pay for that." He cut me off before I could finish my sentence.
Oh no! This can't be good.
I placed my math book into the safety of my backpack and looked at Trey. The stern look on his face changed into an evil grin as he slid his hand up my bare thigh. All the blood in my body rushed from my brain and chills ran down my spine. I inhaled and exhaled audibly as I heart rate escalated and my backpack slipped from my hand to the floor of the car.
What if my parents came and saw us in this compromising position? Trey would get fired and I would be grounded for a million years.Speak of the devil.
Just then the garage door that adjoins the kitchen spun open and my dad appeared.
I froze.
Trey still had his hand on my thigh.
My mind went blank.
Trey lifted his hand from my thigh but returned it promptly, giving me a stinging slap.
"Ouch!" I wailed as I was surprised that he slapped me.
"Damn! I hate these mosquitoes." Trey pretended to be disgusted.
He turned towards me. "Although you hate me, I just saved you from catching malaria so you better start appreciating my body guarding skills."I didn't know whether to laugh or get upset but my dad, however, was having a ball. He laughed until he started having hiccups.
I existed the car and headed towards the kitchen. My dad spoke to me after recovering from his laughing fit. "Cupcake, I know that you don't like Veron following you around but it's for your own good." He assured me.
I growled, stomped my feet and barged through the kitchen door, trying to pretend that I detested Trey's company.
I heard my dad chuckle and apologize to Trey for my disruptive behavior.
"Evening honey." My mom said cheerily. She was in the kitchen preparing a scrumptious meal and taste buds tingled at the aroma.
"Hey mom." I answered.
"How was your day? Did Veron give you a hard time?" she asked, absentmindedly as she paid attention to her cooking.
"Hmm not really. He's a little annoying but I can work with it. After all its for my own good. " I tried by best not to sound elated.
I walked lazily upstairs and plopped into my bed, the events of the day swimming around in my mind. My lie was just unbelievable. I could have the boy...well the man of dreams at my house at any time of the day....or night.
A text came in on my phone pulling me from my thoughts. I flipped over on my belly to read the text.Josh: Who is this Veron character? I don't like him.
Me: Why not?
Josh: Something isn't right about him. And I'm going to find out what that is. Is he there now?
Me: Yeah. I think so
Josh: I'm coming over to interrogate him with extreme prejudice.
I laughed at Josh's paranoia. There's no way Trey has a secret agenda. He's too sweet and charming.
There was short rap on my bedroom door. Probably my dad coming to tell me how great it is to have a bodyguard.
"Come in." I said, still laying on my belly with my back turned towards the door.
"Hmmmm will you look at that sexy ass." I spun around instantly and sat up as I heard Trey's voice. A small chuckle escaped from his lips.
"That's not funny." I said. "Why are you still here by the way? I thought you left already." I sat up.
Trey walked over to my sofa and sat down. "Well....my mother-in-law invited me to dinner and I just couldn't turn her down."
I smiled. "Does she know you're up here?" I asked glancing at my closed bedroom door.
"But of course." Trey said with a grin plastered on his face. "Your dad told me to come up and get acquainted with you. I guess it's a part of my job description. "
My dad sent my boyfriend to my private bedroom with no one watching us. For a moment I wondered if he knows about us and was trying to catch us off guard. I shook the thought from my mind as I heard Josh's voice calling out my name as he bounced up the stairs.
"Where is this Veron. I would like to tell him a word or two." Josh said as he barged into my bedroom oblivious to the fact that Trey was here.
"Oh. Speak your mind. I'm all ears." Trey said. He startled Josh who jumped at the sound of his voice.
"Uhm...I-I'm just here to tell you that I think you're doing a fabulous job of protecting my best friend. " Josh stuttered.
"Well thank you sir." Trey went over and shook Josh's hand.
"A-also I'm here to borrow your m-math book." Josh stuttered nervously. Something about Trey has him really scared.
"Oh sure. " I reached over the side of my bed but my backpack wasn't there and I instantly remembered where I dropped it. "I'll go grab it from the garage." I said as I exited the room leaving Josh to interrogate Trey.
