CRY POV

The day passes quickly and is full of stories and laughter, something that hasn't been genuine for a while. When everyone's asleep, I find myself in her arms. Her warmth is something that I've been missing for so long, that I've forgotten the feel of happiness. I look up at her dimly lit face, barely visible by the aid of the light in the hallway, creeping its way through any crack in the door possible. I reach out and touch her warm cheek and kiss her forehead, and her grip around my neck tightens. I pull back and look into her eyes.

"I love you." I say to her.

"I love you too." She kisses my lips softly. I smile and she smiles back. Sending chills up my spine. I pull her close to me and rest my head on top of hers. Her heart is fast against my chest and her breaths soon begin to slow and she falls asleep.

I carefully remove her arms and my own, and leave the warmth of her hospital bed and grab my backpack, leaned against the bed. I kiss her forehead and walk towards the door, making sure to not step on anyone. I turn back towards her and smile. Her hair falls over her face but even then she still is beautiful. A sleeping angel.

I turn and open the door slowly, allowing light into the dark room. I slip out of the room and close it silently behind me. Letting out a breath, that I didn't even know I was holding in, I make my way to the elevator and venture down to the ground level. Slowly I walk out to the courtyard and sit down at the trunk of that great oak tree that saw her fight for her life, and my fight for hope. The stories that this tree must have are endless.

I set my back pack down and unzip it. I take out my laptop and open it. Creating a new document, I title it," The Reasons I Love You." And I go to work.
