"Ben! Are you okay?" A frantic voice asked, pulling me back into consciousness.
I made a pained noise, already having shifted back when I lost consciousness.
I struggled to focus my eyes, my vision spinning relentlessly. The world kept fading to black but I pushed myself up to my knees before falling back on my butt.
"Ben! What happened to you?" The frantic voice spoke again.
"Aaron jumped me," I hissed out through pain clenched teeth. I shit my eyes, trying to ease the nausea from my spin in surroundings.
The voice sighed, "Let me help you."
I opened my eyes enough to see Owen crouch in front of me and place his hand on the knife still lodged in my stomach. If Magenta hadn't cursed me to live for all eternity in this beastly state, this wound would have killed me.
Owen pulled lightly on the knife, I could feel the skin around it that had started to heal pull away and start dripping warm blood down my side.
"Just pull it out," I growled lowly at him after another slight tug that released more blood.
He sighed again but finally yanked hard enough to pull out the heavy knife.
I hissed and pressed a dirty hand to the already closing wound.
I glared at Owen when I saw his barely masked smile.
"What are you smiling about. I nearly died!"
"Nothing," he chuckled. "I just find it funny how often you get into situations like these and I have to rescue you."
"Where's Bella?"
"Aaron took her to Clarissa's," he said with a sideways glance at me. "Apparently she has a broken ankle."
"Don't, Owen. Just don't start this right now," I warned while pushing myself to my feet.
His face fell into one of disappointment. "You need to let her go, Ben! How much damage have you already caused? You've only been in her life for a few months and lately you have completely messed it up. Do I have to remind you what happened to Theo?"
I growled out a completely animalistic sound and walked closer to him, dwarfing him with my height. "Stop. Bringing. That. Up," I snapped thumping his chest after each word. "Theo was not my fault! You know I lost control–"
"Yeah?" He interrupted pushing me back away from him. "Well, what happens when you lose control with Bella, huh? Who's going to be there to pull you off of her?"
My eyes narrowed at the sad truth. I couldn't control the curse, but I also couldn't let her go. "It won't happen when I'm around her. She calms me. I promised to protect her. I love her, Owen. Don't you understand? I've only known her for a few months and I already know I love her," I was desperate, pleading with him to understand why I couldn't just give up.
His eyes flashed with pain before he backed away from me. "Bennett, it's time you understand that loving her isn't enough. If you love her, you have to leave her alone. I've loved her since I turned ten, but even then I knew that Aaron was what's best for her. We can't do for her what he can."
His words stung, almost as bad as Aaron's knife had.
"I just can't let her go," I whispered allowed as he walked off.
A/N: I know it's really short! I have to force myself to keep writing this story righti now. I really don't want to give up! Give me some encouragement by clicking that star? Maybe even comment some ideas? I'm so deep in writers block I can't see the light of day anymore. I wrote a 4 page chapter for goodness-sake! Anyway, thanks for the love and encouragement. I really do love all of you that are reading this, I know it's not the best at times but you stick with me and I couldn't be more grateful.
LOL (lots of love)

P.S. Should I start doing a question of the chapter? I really want to know more about all of you!
