I didn't want to go see Aaron ever. Especially not after he stabbed me. I had no choice if I wanted to find out where Bella was. With a low grumble I set off to find him.
Walking back towards town was a slow processes. I had mostly healed from the stab wounds I had received as a wolf but pain still throbbed from my stomach with every step I took.
I eventually made it to Lee's temporary home where Aaron was staying. I knocked on the old wooden door and stood up straighter, removing my hand from where it had been clutching my side.
I opened my mouth as the door opened, prepared to tell Aaron some story to get him to tell me where Bella was at without him getting suspicious. Much to my disappointment, the door opened to reveal the small Lee.
"Where's Aaron?"
Lee's eyes widened and he started to look panicked.
"He had my sister in his arms when he went past me to Larissa's clinic! He said there was a Beast attack and she was targeted. Before he left, he told Owen to go into the woods and make sure it was dead. Thank the goddess he was here or else I would have had to go into the woods alone!" The boy babbled on, shivering at the thought of encountering the Beast alone in the woods.
"So him and Bella went to Larissa's?"
He nodded his head. I took off running in that direction, ignoring Lee's protest.
I didn't bother knocking on Larissa's for when I reached it. I threw open the door with such force that it smacked of the wall behind it and nearly hit me when it ricocheted. Aaron jumped and looked at me with the noise, his hair was standing up on end like he had been pulling on the ends in his stressed out state.
"Do you know where Larissa is?" He demanded once he realized it was me and not someone else.
I opened my mouth to say 'Probably off breaking another man's heart,' but knew I couldn't say such a thing without raising questions. So instead I simply replied, "She isn't here?"
"No," he replied, proving my earlier thoughts by tugging on his dark hair.
"What has you all stressed out?"
Aaron looked at me before releasing a sigh. "Bella has broke her ankle. I need Larissa to fix it and take care if her. Bella is the only other doctor around here and she can hardly sit up, let alone fix her own bone."
My mouth opened and the words that came out surprised us both. "I'll take care of her. I have some medical experience," Lies. But Owen does. "My house is bigger and my furniture is better so she will heal faster with me then here without Larissa."
Aaron looked at me suspiciously for a moment. He eventually nodded at me. "Okay, you can take care of her."
I smile crossed my face and I could feel my mood instantly grow better. Sure I may have hurt her, but I'm also going to be the one to heal her.
A/N: Hey! Don't worry, I'm still alive. I haven't suddenly died or anything! I was without power for a couple of days though -_- Anyway! I'm back. I'm going to set myself a deadline on this book though so I can finish it! I haven't decided yet but when I do I'll let you know so you can beat down my door when I don't post. Are you excited that Bennett is finally going to get Bella? I'm going to move this is with chapter 13 later (that's why it's Chapter 13: Part 2).
