AMELIA'S POV

The drive to our destination was not near as long as I thought it would be. After I had changed into this ridiculous dress at the gas station, it only took us ten minutes to reach the home of the most well-known gang member in the Eastern United States.

Forgive me for being surprised when we pulled up outside of a beautiful, three story, colonial home with big white columns in the front. Ashton turned off the car and sat and stared at the house for a few minutes.

"Nothing ever changes." He whispered. "This place always stays the same."

Arsen was the first to get out of the car, followed momentarily by Ashton and I. Arsen intertwined our fingers and pulled me along towards the front door. Ashton speed-walked to it and banged his fist against it.

After the sixth time he knocked, the door swung open, and one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen stood in front of us. For a second I felt inferior and self-conscious. I felt like I needed to take my boyfriend and run far, far, far away from this place.

She had raven hair that fell to her waist, eyes the color of the sky just before sunlight completely disappears, and plump, naturally red lips. It didn't help that she was leggy and had a body that could kill an unsuspecting man.

"Taylor." Ashton greeted, his tone so void of emotion it surprised me.

Taylor smiled and leaned against the door frame. "Ashton." She responded, her eyes trailing over his body and eventually setting on Arsen and I. She stepped back and held the door open wide, allowing us in. "What can I do for you?

Taylor sauntered into the house as if she owned it. Confidence radiated off of her and it felt like a punch to the gut when I looked up and watched Arsen stare intently after her.

"We're here to see Barron." Ashton answered, crossing his arms over his chest and not moving a step further into the house.

"Barron is on a business call, you'll have to wait." She informed us, turning around and settling on top of the back of a couch.

"Since when do you have the nerve to call him by his first name?" Arsen asked, shoving his free hand into his jacket pocket.

"Since he proposed to me last month." Taylor held her hand out for us to see the giant rock of a diamond she wore on her ring finger.

"You're marrying him?" Ashton exclaimed.

"What can I say?" Taylor grinned at me. "I've got a thing for the Brook's men."

"He's old enough to be your dad!" Ashton yelled, his expression thunderous.

For a second Taylors composure broke. She was being friendly and polite before, but now she looked just as irritated as Ashton did.

"What do you care what I do with my life?" She hissed, hopping off the back of the couch and getting in his face.

"I don't!" He growled. "I stopped caring the second I found you in bed with Arsen."

My eyes flew to Arsen and he held his hands up in surrender. "I had no idea they were together at the time!" He defended.

"Maybe I wouldn't have had to sleep with him if you had just paid a little more attention to me!" She shot back.

"This got awkward real fast." I mumbled to Arsen.

"You knew how busy I was! You were the one constantly telling me it was okay and that you understood!"

Taylor jabbed a finger at his chest. "You loved your job more than you loved me, just admit it." She had lowered her voice now, it was deadly calm and caused goosebumps to raise on my arms. "You didn't care that I cheated on you, you were probably just glad to be rid of me."

"Who the hell are you to decide how I felt about you?" Ashton spat, stepping closer to her and backing her up until she was pressed against a wall.

"All I wanted was for you to pay more attention to me than you did the drugs." Taylor growled, placing her hands on his chest. "Maybe if you weren't so addicted to the adrenaline of the job, right now, I would be marrying you instead of Barron." She shoved him away from her,

"You're marrying the leader of a gang!" Ashton bellowed, throwing his hands up in frustration. "I'll be damned if he shows you any more attention than I did."

"He doesn't." Taylor confirmed, crossing her arms over her chest. "But Barron is rich and doesn't care if I feel like sleeping around. He just needs someone pretty to hang on his arm. You of all people should know he's never loved anyone but your mother."

"Then why are you marrying him?"

Taylor smiled. "He proposed and I'm not stupid enough to reject the leader of the most well known gang on the East coast."

Ashton stared at her, unblinkingly, for a few seconds. "That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard."

"Is it?" Taylor asked, circling him like a cat would circle its prey. "You know all too well what happens to women here that no longer serve their purpose."

"You has an opportunity to leave, with me, and you turned it down. So yes, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard."

Taylor rolled her eyes and Ashton continued. "No really, it is." He pointed at Arsen. "Keep in mind I live and talk to him everyday."

"Thanks bro, means a lot." Arsen commented.

"Barron's probably off the phone by now." Taylor said quietly, her eyes going to me, and looking me over. "I'd hide her before you see him. Barron's always wanted what other people have."

"Where are we supposed to hide her?" Arsen asked.

Taylor shrugged. "She could come with me."

"Sure." Ashton piped up. "After that we can take her out and push her into oncoming traffic."

"It's okay." I cut in. "I'll go with her."

"Like hell you will!" Ashton yelled.

I rolled my eyes and didn't respond. Instead, in a moment of jealousy and pettiness, I grabbed Arsen by the back of his neck and pulled him down to me. I kissed him hard and passionately, the way I did all night last night. My lips moved against his in a way that was possessive.

He kissed me back with just as much heat and intensity, his arms holding me to him and nearly lifting me off the ground.

With Taylor there, looking like a literal goddess, I wanted Arsen's focus to be on me and me only. Maybe that sounds petty and insecure, but I've already lost him once, and losing him again terrified me.

He pulled away and grinned down at me, leaning down so his lips were at my ear. "You are really sexy when you're jealous."

"Who said I was jealous?" I asked, playing dumb. "I missed out on eight months of that, I'm just making up for lost time."

His fingers traced my swollen lips. "Go with Taylor."

"I love you." I murmured.

"I love you too." He kissed me one last time and then directed me towards the leggy goddess.

"Keep her in one piece." He told Taylor.

Taylor smirked and looked me up and down. "I'll do my best, after that little display I might want to try her out myself."

Arsen gripped onto my shoulders before I could take another step towards Taylor and she laughed. "I'm kidding Arse-head. She will be safe with me and I promise not to touch her unless she tells me otherwise." Taylor winked at me and hooked her finger towards herself, motioning me to her. "Let's go."

Arsen released my shoulders and I hesitantly followed the pretty woman who currently had me questioning my own sexuality.
