Amelia's POV
I followed Taylor down a large corridor. I am starting to get the feeling that the hallways were endless and that we could walk for hours on end but never reach the end of the hallway. After what felt like an eternity, Taylor stopped and pushed open a door to our right.
She held the door open for me and I hesitantly wandered inside, my curiosity piquing as I looked around the room.
The room was huge and one of the most beautiful spaces I have ever see . A king sized bed was the center of the and expensive looking, white furniture was placed around it. The room was very open and bright. It was the complete opposite of the feeling I got being around Taylor.
"Barron insisted on hiring the best Interior Designers in Georgia to decorate my room." Taylor explained, watching me as I took in the beauty of her room.
She went and sat on a white plush sofa that was placed at the end of her bed. She pressed a few buttons on her remote and the TV that sat on the entertainment center in front of her turned on. There was now an arial view of Ashton and Arsen on the screen.
"I wired a small camera and mic in Barron's office when he wasn't home. He started to hide things from me and I wasn't okay with that. You can never be too careful. Unless you want to end up dead, you always have to be on your toes around here."
I sat down next to Taylor on her couch. "He doesn't know you did that?"
Taylor shrugged. "I'd be dead if he did."
My eyes widened at her words and my stomach felt like it was in my throat. I redirected my attention to the screen to take my mind off the imminent danger we were in by just being here. Ashton and Arsen were sat in large armchairs in front of Barron's desk. They were talking to each other but I couldn't hear what they were saying. While their expressions conveyed that they were not happy with the situation they were in, their bodies were relaxed. It dawned on me that this is a very familiar situation for them. They aren't happy about being in this position but they aren't uncomfortable or out of their elements.
"Will you tell me about this part of their lives?" I asked Taylor, looking over at her.
Taylors smile was grim, her eyes didn't leave the TV screen, or rather her eyes didn't leave Ashton. "They would kill me if I said anything about their gang lives."
"Ashton is probably going to kill you anyway for dragging me out of his sight." I reminded her.
Taylor laughed and shook her head. "Ashton may be pissed at me, but he knows I'm not a threat or a danger to you."
"Please," I begged, desperate now. "I need to know more about them."
Taylor sighed and stared up at the ceiling, obviously contemplating if she should tell me or not. "I'm only going to tell you this so you know. I hope you use it to get away while you still can."
I looked at the screen again, my eyes immediately going to Arsen. "I don't want to get away." I told Taylor.
Taylor nodded, looking sympathetic and understanding. I realize that she has probably thought this way before. "They used to go back and forth between their Uncle and their Dad. Usually that's a big no-no in the gang world, but Barron and his brother made an agreement a long time ago with Ashton and Arsen's mother. The boy's were allowed to go and be with whoever they wanted at a moments notice. Even with the rivalry, the men agreed. If there was one person the men would always be faithful too, it was Scarlett."
"If that's true, why didn't we go straight to Scarlett for protection?" I asked.
"As of recent, Ashton and Arsen's dad announced that he no longer abides by what Scarlett wants. He realized that no matter how much he did what she wanted, he would never get her back. The realization threw him into a fit of rage and now all he wants is Ashton and Arsen to be on his side, and he will destroy whatever stands in his way."
"So... me. Thats why he's trying to kill me, I'm standing in his way."
Taylor nodded and gave me a sympathetic smile. "It's not easy being with any of the Brook's men."
"How do you know all of this?" I asked her.
"Their dad, Damon, sent a letter to Barron about a week ago. He formally announced all of this and told Barron to stay out of his way."
"Is there any chance of Barron helping them?"
Taylor looked at me and her expression was the only answer I needed. "Amelia, Damon threatened Scarlett's life."
I stood up and ran for the door, coming here was a bad idea. My heart was pounding and my only thought was to get the boys and I out of here. Damon threatened Scarlett and Barron would do anything to protect her. This included getting rid of me and dropping Ashton and Arsen off at Damon's doorstep.
Taylor grabbed me around the waist and held me back. She is stronger than I am and struggling against her hold was no use.
"Let them handle it!" She whispered, her lips at my ear. "If he knows you're here it'll only make things worse."
I stopped struggling and gripped on to her arm, steadying myself. She held on to me, keeping me upright until the room stopped spinning. I felt lightheaded and had the urge to throw up. The idea of the boys, my boys, being stuck out there with that psycho made me sick.
"Tell me more." I whispered, my voice hoarse. "Tell me more about them."
Taylor guided me to the couch and sat me down. She waited until I looked like I wouldn't have a mental break down before starting up again.
ARSEN'S POV
Barron is being difficult. We laid out our plan for taking our father down and he has said nothing for over two minutes. Instead he stared at us while clicking his pen."So?" Ashton prompted, scooting forward in his seat. "What do you think?"
Our uncle sighed and stared past us. "I can't help you."
"Fine." I snapped. "We will just go back home and tell mom all about how unhelpful you were."
"Do you recognize this?" Barron asked,
Pulling out a slip of paper from a file, and handing it over to us.I read over it, recognizing my fathers writing style immediately, even though it was typed. "What does he want?" I asked.
"You know exactly what he wants, you're running from it."
"Well he's not getting us." I muttered.
Barron slammed his fist down on his desk and stood up. He reached over and snatched the document out of my hands and slammed it down on the desk. "He will get you, even if I have to bring you there myself!"
"Why are you suddenly on his side?" Ashton yelled, standing up and getting in his face. "He ruined your life and now you want to help him?"
"If you both don't return to him by the end of this month, he's going after Scarlett and the rest of her new family. After that I suppose he will be going after Amelia and her family!"
I opened my mouth to say something but he cut me off. "Yes, I know all about Amelia. I heard about her from your father and I know she's currently with Taylor, in her bedroom. I've been doing this a long time, I know everything."
"Did you know that you're my real father?" Ashton asked, arms crossed over his chest. "Or did Scarlett forget to tell you?"
Holy fucking shit.
