When Macey fell asleep, I stayed awake just in my own thoughts. I started thinking about what would happen when Prime allowed me to go back on missions again. Since we got back together about three days ago, we've barely left each other's sides, and we were both starting to get used to it.

I didn't know what to do about the whole 'destined Sparkmates' thing. We haven't even talked about it once yet. I know that I want it as soon as possible for both of our sakes. I'll know how she's doing when I'm away and vise versa. I'm giving her time to process everything since she's never heard of a bond so significant as this.

Tonight, she was just wearing sweatpants and a light gray shirt. Through the shirt, I could see the outline of the marking on her back. It was almost as if it were mocking me for everything I'd done wrong in our relationship so far. Even though we had our ups and downs, I can speak for the both of us and say we're both happy now.

      .:Optimus Prime to Ironhide:.

       .:What do you need Prime:.

I was laying in bed with Macey, she was still asleep. I let my ran my fingers through her hair as she slept.

.:I need you down at the hanger in five minutes:. With that, he cut off the conversation between us. Sighing, I stood up slowly, trying not to wake my sleeping mate, and wrote on another little note card.

'duty calls. I didn't want to wake you. remember, you have three classes today.
-your favorite weapons specialist'

After I put the note next to her bed, I crept out of the room, making sure not to wake her.

Optimus and I were standing in the hanger, both of us in our Cybertronian forms.

"How are you and Macey getting along? No problems, I expect," he didn't look at me, just out into the sea of humans that cluttered the floor.

"We're good, Prime. Now, what is it you need me for? She has a class finishing soon and I wanted to take her to lunch."

"I am happy to hear that the two of you have sought past your differences. You are here for me to inform you that I am reassigning you back on the team, now that you can actually think straight," he put a hand on my shoulder plating, something a sire would do to their sparkling.

"And how soon will I be back on another mission?" I wanted to know so I could warn Macey to give us time before I was gone for at least a week or two.

"You will be departing with me in two weeks. The humans have tracked a Decepticon down overseas, and we are going."

I was both overjoyed and upset. I was overjoyed that I was allowed back on the field, but upset because I would have to leave Macey.

"How long are we going to be there, Prime?"

"That, old friend, will only be known when we are there. There is no way to predict how long this mission will take," after he finished speaking to me, he walked over the humans and started discussing the details on the mission.

What am I going to tell Enxer? We're finally in a good place and I have to leave. My thoughts started drifting towards us becoming Sparkmates, before I left. If we officially became Sparkmates, then there would be less longing between the two of us. We would be able to know how the other is doing at all times, and we would be able to talk the whole time. At the same time, I was having an argument internally because I wanted to become Sparkmates on her own time.
