Painting hearts

And trembling lips

Twitching skin under fingertips

Lies hidden behind shrouded faces

Painting hearts on my skin

I can still smell the rain

And I can still feel the pain

I've been hurting for awhile

Breaking skin with paintbrushes

Drawing happier realities
