Little girl getting scared
She'd leave her room only if they'd stop whispering
A home is no place to hide
Her soul is breaking from the pain that she feels
Every day is the same
She fights to find her way
She hurts
She breaks
She hides
And tries to be happy
She is just fine
Because no one hears her when she cries
She's turning 13 in a few days
People are asking what she wants and all she can think of is happiness
They never get too close
Every happy moment is quick to pass
Being quick to adjust her sleeves
Doesn't want anyone to see
She says
"These memories are making me bleed"
"I have a question but no one knows the answer"
She wants to know if she'll ever get better
Every day is the same
She fights to find her way
She hurts
She breaks
She hides
And tries to be happy
She is just fine
Because no one hears her when she cries
This is the time
Before the memories come back
The storm is passing
But it's left a wreck
How will she survive
When she's walked through hell and back?
Don't be afraid
Tomorrow's a new day
I promise you'll be okay

Smile past her lies
She's getting worse
But god knows she's tried
