Liam's pov

Days went by and it was torture. Harry wasn't the same, and it hurt me to see him like this. So broken, so not himself, so helpless and so... insane.

When Louis and I went upstairs to his room, we were met by something not very Harry like. He was laughing, crying of laughter, and we didn't know why. He was laying on his bed, blue comforter tangled with his jeans clad legs, hands on his stomach, curls knotted and a shaking body. I was afraid he went into shock again, but he seemed to have this look of realisation on his face, and any look of any emotion made me show he knew what was going on. At least he showed emotion now. Since we got home, he seemed like only a body, no soul to detect. His body looked like it was set on automatic pilot, and it was kinda scary to be honest.

We left his room, worried, but we didn't know what to do else. So we let him be. I felt helpless, I had no idea how to help my friend of fourteen years now. He looked so out of the world, he seemed so helpless without Niall, so clueless. It pained me. I experienced heartbreak before, but I didn't quite know if he was experiencing it now. I mean, I could see he was hurt, hell, everyone could see, but did he still love Niall then? He never told us what exactly happened between them, and we never asked because we knew that if he was ready, he would tell us. But he never did.

We left him and talked about what we should do. I was glad Zayn stayed with us. I didn't know why, but he seemed to know how to handle the situation. We all knew Harry wasn't to fond of Zayn, but Zayn wanted to help Harry too, which showed how perfect he actually was.

Louis looked beaten. I probably looked the same. He was tugging at his hair and pacing in the living room, which made me nervous without a reason. Zayn held me in his arms when Louis began to speak.

"I think we should call Anne." He said. I didn't know if that was such a good idea. If anything, I actually wanted her to spare the sight of insane Harry. He was scary, like the way he laughed just like that. It was bitter, and that was the only emotion echoed in his voice. He just stared at the wall and laughed.

"I think that won't help Harry though," Zayn said, and I nodded.

"Well, she needs to know her son isn't doing well." Louis said, a bit irritated. With that I agreed. Anne had the right to know her son was acting like a mad man, and I felt like we, as his best friends, had to tell her.

After some debating, we agreed I would ring Anne, since I had a bit more tact than Louis. Louis left for work then, and I was alone with Zayn.

"Why do you think he had a second phone?" I asked him, whilst trying to get comfortable in his arms. That phone was bugging the shit out of me. I had never seen it before, until it was on the coffee table. When Harry went upstairs, Lou noticed it and thought it was Zayn's. We came to the conclusion it had to be Harry's, as it wasn't ours, and he confirmed it by grabbing it. He seemed desperate for it though, and it was only then when I realised he was actually asking for that phone back at the hospital. That phone had apparently a big meaning to him, and when he went through his manic laughter phase, the device was clutched in his hand.

"Honestly babe, I have no idea." Zayn said. He sounded a bit off, but the situation was also off, so yeah. I was proud of Zayn. He stayed with me for Harry, but his best friend was also missing. He probably was very sad too, and no one asked if he was okay. I was a bit angry at myself for not asking him, but then again, Harry was in the hospital due to his sadness.

"How are you, Zayn? Are you okay?" I asked him.

He shrugged.

"I guess. Harry is having it worse though. I can't say I'm surprised, Harry and Niall had a connection from the start." He said, but I wasn't satisfied with the answer.
