Rose was released the next day to go home. Scorpius had stormed out the previous day and hadn't come back. Rose contacted Astoria and found out that he had indeed turned back up at his old home for the time being.
Rose was told by the Healers that it was still unwise for her to Apparate, so she took the Floo Network to her flat. She arrived home soon after she had been released from St. Mungo's.
"Scorpius?" Rose called out, hopeful that he would turn up from somewhere within the house.
There was no movement and Scorpius did not emerge. Rose sank down onto the couch in the sitting room and began to cry into her hands.
She hated being away from Scorpius. It was like a barrier had been built between them that only they could break down. She knew Scorpius and she knew he would come to his senses eventually.
She stood up and wiped her eyes. She walked into the kitchen and made herself a sandwich without using magic. She rarely ever made what Scorpius called a 'Muggle sandwich', but she was depressed and quite frankly she didn't want to use magic.
She took the sandwich into the sitting room and turned on the radio on the end table.
It crackled into life and on came the voice of Lee Jordan, one of her Uncle George's school friends.
During Uncle George and her late Uncle Fred's time at school, Lee Jordan had been the commentator at the Quidditch games. Lee Jordan's wife, Nadia, had convinced him to become a radio announcer. Lee had then agreed and had started his own radio station called JW2, which stood for Jordan Weasley 2. He did it in memory of his school friend, Fred, as he was killed in the Battle of Hogwarts.
"And now for the weather..." Lee was saying.
Rose finished her sandwich. Before she could stand up however, Lily Apparated into the sitting room.
"Lily!" Rose exclaimed.
"Hi, Rose. Where's Scor?" Lily asked.
"He...went out," Rose said, not wanting to explain what had happened.
"Ah. Well, I need to talk to you," Lily said quickly.
"What is it?" Rose asked, already slightly exasperated.
"It's about Hunter. He's trying to get me to...do it," Lily said anxiously.
"It?" Rose said.
"You know what I mean! I don't like to say it!" Lily said.
"Alright. Well, what's the matter with that?" Rose said.
"I don't want to. Not before marriage, at least," Lily said, wringing her hands.
"I get it. Abstinence. Makes sense. So just tell him that," Rose said.
"I don't know how," Lily said, biting her lip.
"Just tell him that makes you uncomfortable. I'm sure he'll understand," Rose said calmly, starting to stand up and go into the kitchen.
Lily nodded.
"Thanks, Rosie," Lily said with a smile before Disapparating.
Rose washed her plate and set it back up in the cabinet. Before she could leave the kitchen, there was another loud pop! and Albus appeared in the kitchen.
"Al?" Rose said curiously.
"Ah, Rose! I'm glad you're here," Albus said.
"What is it?" Rose asked him.
"How'd you know I needed something?" Albus asked.
Rose laughed.
"Lily already turned up. I'm expecting the whole rest of the family after you," Rose joked.
Albus smiled and rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about proposing to Alice," Albus said.
He pulled a black box from his pocket and opened it to show Rose the ring. It had a silver spiraled band with a squared diamond in its center.
"That's a beautiful ring, Al," Rose commented.
"Thanks. Cost me nearly thirty galleons, mind you," Albus chuckled.
Rose smiled and nodded.
"I think you should take Alice to her favorite place and fill it with some of her favorite things. You could put up some pictures of you two and some fairy lights. Then, you could go through a timeline of the times you two have had together. Then, get down and propose," Rose said as simply as possible.
Albus smiled and nodded, taking it all in.
"Ah, nice. I like it. Wish me good luck, eh?" Albus said with a wink.
Rose smiled before he Disapparated.
Rose sat down on the couch and listened to Lee's voice over the radio.
"And now for the news. The new Lightning broomstick was just released yesterday. It is made specifically for those who enjoy speedy flying..." Lee was saying.
Rose zoned out for a bit before an owl flew through the window and landed on the end table beside the radio. It had a letter tied to its leg. It held it out so Rose could untie it. Rose did so immediately and unrolled the scroll. Written on the parchment were four words: Come to Malfoy Manor.
Rose eyed the parchment curiously. She didn't particularly recognize the handwriting, although the style was somewhat similar to Scorpius's. It had to be a Malfoy's handwriting. She smiled to herself and stood up. She walked to the fireplace and took the Floo Network to Malfoy Manor.
When she arrived, she found Draco in the sitting room. It seemed he was waiting for something.
"Ah, Rose Weasley," Draco said, standing up.
"Draco," Rose smiled at him.
"I expect you received the letter. Scor is waiting for you in the foyer," Draco explained.
Rose nodded and walked down the hall to the foyer. As she got closer, she heard bits and pieces of a song by The Weird Sisters. She smiled to herself and hummed the tune the rest of the way down the hall. She walked up to Scorpius who stood facing her. He smiled at her. Rose followed the trail of rose petals on the floor. She smelled peppermint and the scent of Scorpius's cologne.
"Scor..." Rose started.
"Shh," Scorpius said, putting a finger to her lips as she came face to face with him.
She smiled against his finger. He smiled back.
Rose looked down. He was wearing jeans and the Quidditch jumper Rose had bought him for Christmas.
"Rose Weasley, I love you with all of my heart. You are by far the most talented, intelligent, and beautiful person I have ever met. I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else but you. Even when we fight, I know you still love me, and I want you to know that I still love you too, no matter what. You are my one and only and the love of my life. You are truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you, Rosie. Please forgive me for my jealously. I'm am honestly sorry for my inappropriate outburst yesterday," Scorpius said.
Rose didn't respond. She stepped forward a half step and hugged him tightly. He was shocked for a moment, but then he hugged her back.
"Aw," a voice said from down the hall.
Rose released Scorpius and turned to see Astoria standing behind them. Rose laughed and went to hug Astoria as well.---
I love the ending!!! They made up again! Yay!!! I love the way Scorpius used all of Rose's favorite things in the setting. It ties back to what Rose told Albus about his upcoming proposal....
