Lucy's POV

My eyes flinched. I noticed a light. Is this heaven?

~

Suddenly, a salmon streak flashed ahead of me. My eyes adjusted to see a familiar face just right in front of me. Nearly inches away. His eyes closed as he let out a big breath in relief. He slowly backed away and sat up straight, staring into the pool. I slowly sat up, while my legs stayed out straight. I glanced up at him. "Don't ever scare me like that." From what I can tell, it just seemed like he was wiping a tear out of the corner of his eye. Tears all of a sudden bursted out. I turned to his side and clutched onto his vest, making him look at the top of my head in shock. "You okay?" I shook my head as my body slightly trembled. He leaned his arms back as he gazed up at the stars. I had my arms wrapped around his hips. His hand reached for my hair as he stroke it down gently. "Your soaking wet." I sniffled along with a nod. I release my grasp and wiped my nose. My body shuttered. "Let's take you home." He stood up, reaching his hand out for me. I took a breath while latching onto his hand. The breath was visible under the moonlight. "Thank you."

"You can come in if you want." I gave a fake smile. He was soaking wet too, so I wouldn't want to walk home in the cold. "You sure?" He asked. My mouth opened in response, but no words came out. I suddenly remembered the one person preventing me from bringing him home; my father. Sighing, in guilt, I accepted. "Yea come on in." We slowly took a step inside. "Lucy is that you?" I sarcastically wanted to say, "no it's a burglar! Give me all your money." However, I prevented those words from coming out my mouth. "It's me." Heavy footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. "What are you doing home so late?!" He noticed Natsu. "Who's this?" He walked up to Natsu. "I'm Natsu." My father reached his hand out to shake it with Natsu's. Natsu did the same. Was my dad actually trying to be polite??
"You two are all wet!" He pointed out in a fake worry. "Let me get some towels. Lucy can you help me." I hesitated in walking because I knew he didn't ask me for my help. However, I couldn't let Natsu notice anything suspicious. "Uh sure..." I slowly followed behind my father, and up the stairs.

Third POV
Natsu could hear loud talking from up the stairs, however he couldn't make out what they were saying. Suddenly, Natsu's ears picked up a faint scream. I'm a panic he immediately ran up the stairs. His eyes laid on a Lucy on the ground. Lucy glanced back in horror. Natsu's anger risen inside him as he noticed her father standing a couple feet away. "N-Natsu! It's not what it looks like! I just....I" her father looked away bluntly, "she just tripped." His voice was so robotic and plain, anyone would be surprised if there was an actual human being in there.
Natsu was still hostile, not fully believing the story. However, he didn't want to be rude, so he just nodded and helped Lucy get off the ground. She limped but he held his arm around her neck, to help her walk. Her arm was around his waist. "Thanks." She smiled up at him. Her heart kept beating. Each second created a faster beat than the last. Before walking down the first step, Natsu turned his head to see Jude no longer standing there. Sighing, he looked forward again and helped Lucy down the stairs.
-
"Do you need ice." She shook her head. "I'm fine." She glared down at the floor, as her leg was put on the coffee table to rest it. Her face frowned. "What really happened?" He whispered, as he plopped down next to Lucy. "W-what do you mean? I-I sprained my ankle." She glared at him with an innocent confused look. He sighed, while placing his hand on her ankle. "Ow!" She whined, slightly moving her foot in discomfort. "That bruise did not happen by tripping on accident." His expression was dead serious and could kill anyone who walked in it's path. She attempted to keep her stand, "I really did trip!" Natsu sighed, not wanting to argue with her anymore. "Okay..." Lucy looked down in guilt. She didn't want him to know about her father. What if he hates her as well because he finds out her old man is an addict. What if he thinks she's a drunk, too. What if he betrays her as well! So many things can happen. So for now, it's a secret.
-
By now, the two were dry, with damp clothing. A couple hours have passed. "I'm gonna head home." Natsu was worried about leaving her alone with her father. Hesitantly, he grabbed the handle on the doorknob. "I'll be okay." Lucy slightly chuckled. He sighed, giving a smile back. "Okay! See ya tomorrow." Lucy smiled until he left. "Bye..."
