[A/N- okay...I keep having problems when I tried to publish this chapter... so let's hope it works!!! ONCE AND FOR ALL]

"Lucy!" Levy immediately ran up to me with worry. "Are you okay?!" I looked at her in confusion. "I heard Michelle tried to drown you!" My eyes widened, "how many people know?" I whispered to her. "Basically the whole school."
"Great. Now she's gonna think I told everyone." Levy shook her head, "Natsu did it. He even told Michelle he did." I smiled at that thought. However, it soon faded. "Why is she doing this to me?" Levy's eyes widened, "I Don't know..." My phone beeped. Great. Now she went from talking to texting. It was a group chat:

Imitatia: you should like kill you self

Lucy: don't be mad at me because Natsu went ahead and told everyone you tried to drown me

Imitatia: Natsu is just an annoying prick. But once I make him see what a bitch you really are, he would be more than glad to join us.

Racer: I'm surprised he hasn't thrown her out yet

Angel: Right????!!!

Lucy: Just leave me alone

Cobra: or what? You gonna cry to your daddy? Oh yea, I forgot, he's a drunk....just like you

Lucy: I am not! You guys are just bullies

Imitatia: bullies? Don't make me laugh. We are just a group of kids looking to have a little fun

Lucy: that's sick

Imitatia: no...your mother was sick. We are perfectly healthy

Lucy: did you check about mentality? Cuz I feel you have a few screws loose

I looked up from her phone and realized the halls were empty. "Uh oh!"
Suddenly, I was shoved to the ground. In fear, I looked up at Michelle and her gang with fear. "What happened squirt!?" Michelle laughed maniacally, with a hand on her hip. She kicked me in the stomach again, making me wince out in pain. "You were just talking big talk a minute ago." Cobra pulled my hair up, as I yelped in pain. "Quiet." Angel smirked, "We wouldn't want people coming out here and ruining our fun, do we?" I shook my head in fear. Quietly, I yipped in pain, "w-what do you w-wwant with me?" I clenched my eyes as they Cobra released his grip from my hair, plummeting me to the ground. Someone. Help me.

Third POV
The group finally left. Lucy was trembling on the ground, with her hands gripping her hair. She laid on her side, all curled up into a ball. Tears streamed down her face. Her eyes shrunk as all the color around her faded away. Everything was motionless and grey.
She attempted to get up, while holding onto the lockers. However, failing miserably, she plopped back to the ground, while sitting on her back legs. Lucy struggled to stand to her feet once more. Her legs wobbled as they slowly took one step after another. She clutched onto her hip, which displayed a wide bruise. She pulled her shirt down, hoping to cover it. Lucy slowly dragged her hands across the lockers, trying to make it out the front door. Suddenly, everything around her became fuzzy as her eyes struggled to stay open. Flinching a couple of times, her eyelids gave out and immediately closed as she tumbled to the ground once more. She slowly took on last glance ahead of her, toward the opened front doors with sunlight peering through. Her arm stretched out in that direction, before her eyes finally closed once more, putting her into unconsciousness.

So close...yet so far away!

-
Lucy's eyes fluttered, before completely coming to a full open. "She's awake!" Before her eyes could adjust, she heard feet shuffling and talking amongst three adult voices. One was female and there were two males. "Hey! You awake?" A woman with long straight pink hair that reached down her back,  crouched down to the left of Lucy's bed. A gentle smile crossed her face. Lucy slowly rolled her head to the side to look at the wine red eyes of the nurse. Lucy slowly nodded, before moving her head back up to stare at the ceiling once more. Sighing in relief, the nurse stood up. "I'm Mrs. Porlyusica." Lucy smiled gently, however, immediately wincing in pain after. "I guess your pain killers wore off." The woman sighed. "Do you want me to get you some more?" Lucy shook her head, as it scraped across the pillow. Understanding, Porlyusica left the room along with the other two. Lucy just stared at the ceiling with thoughts.

This is my life now...
This is the life I chose...
Why did mom have to pass away?
Why was I so eager to come to school?!

-
Suddenly, a girl ran in the doors. "Lucy!!" Levy looked at her friend who lied motionless on the bed. Lucy attempted to speak, however when her mouth opened, nothing came out. She tried again. Lucy's expressions became confused as a small panic rushed through her body...

Was her mind unconsciously making her become selective mute?

"It's okay Lu. You don't have to speak." Levy's hands twiddled in front of her,- s her feet crossed and she stared at the ground. Her voice seem to sadden. Lucy wanted to help, however nothing was working. No way she had enough energy to write. "Get some rest..." Levy fake-smiled. Before completely leaving her friend's sight, she glanced her head back and smiled. "You should thank Natsu! If it wasn't for him, you would be dead right now." Levy winked and Lucy's face became flushed as different shades of red dispersed through her cheeks. Levy chuckled, and headed off, closing the door with an echoing sound.

-
"Hey how come you're not speaking?" Natsu whined. It has been a week since the incident. Lucy just shrugged in response. Getting her notebook out, she turned the spiral paper around, making it rest under the page she was writing on. She doodled her pencil and written the phrase; For some reason, words are not coming out.

Natsu squinted, trying to read it. Finally finished the sentence, his face lit up, "maybe you should see a doctor!" Lucy's face turned into 💢 [A/N- I apologize if you're on the computer/Don't have an iPhone and can't see the emoji]

She hostily, scribbled down; I did already! They said it was seletive mutism. Howevr, Im suvcomticuslu doingit.

Natsu crooked his head to the side In confusion, attempting to read the messy handwriting. "'I did already! They said it was...." he stared at the next word. "Selective?" He asked, unsure. Lucy nodded with annoyance. "Mutism. How' - I'm guess that says 'ever'". He looked up at Lucy while she gave a nod of approval. He continued to read, "'I'm....' WHAT?!?" Lucy angrily flipped her notebook around, to see what the word said. Hey eyes widened, and she let out a sigh, before writing. That meant to say.....subconsciously. She spun the notebook around to show Natsu. He "ah"ed and finished reading the sentence.
Once finished, he let out a deep breath, "you really need to work on your handwriting, Luce." Offended, Lucy immediately wrote something down. Well I was in a rush since class is about to start! He laughed as she settled her notebook to the left corner of her desk and let out a sigh. She placed a palm under her chin and stared out the window.

Selective Mutism

With that, Lucy drifted off into sleep so easily...
