Title: The Search Begins

season 1.5

Y/n - Your Name
Note - FOLKS I love you all and that's all I've got to say about that. That's that on that. :) Have a day. Let's just say that here, y'all are like 16/17 instead of 12. It doesn't follow the timeline, but then again it's a fanfiction. I do what I want.

Hope you enjoy the revised version.

This is hardly like what it originally was. Anyway.

1 hour earlier. . .

"Don't move, or I'll-!"

"You'll what, shoot me?" Jason said, and attacked the guy holding him at gunpoint. He went inside the apartment and dodged all of their bullets, successfully disarming them and knocked two out.

Batman and you got inside, watching Jason as he put pressure on the head of the guy on the table.

"20 rounds per second and you're still too slow!" You hear him mock the male. You smiled at his over cockiness, and lightly punched his shoulder.

"I'm not slow, punk!" another drug dealer shouted and started shooting at Robin. He managed to narrowly dodged all of the bullets.

"Me either!" Jason replied.

"I got him." Batman said, and threw a batarang at the man, disarming him.

Jason jumped up and elbowed the guy's collarbone, possibly shattering it.

"Robin!" Batman shouted and you winced. This meant that Jason was in deep trouble.

While walking out, you grabbed Jason's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"You're in deep shit, but that was cool."

In response, he squeezed back and turned around to offer you a small and heartwarming smile.

. . .

Now. . .

"I had to take him down." Jason says. The tension is so thick in this room, you nearly suffocated on it. There was never a good way to cool down the rising aggression between those two. So you stand there, a bystander.

"You shattered his collarbone!" Batman half shouts.

"He's a drug dealing pimp, I didn't think I'd have to prop up some pillows before I took him out." He shoots back, with just a little more hardness in his tone.

Admittedly, that earned a bit of a smile and a small smirk from you. Which you hid in the action of you wiping your nose. Jason looked at you, though, and he knew. The smallest upturn in the corner of his lips and short-lived softness in his eyes told you he knew.

"We needed him. He would have talked, but you put him into shock." Batman reasons with statements that are not entirely wrong. We did need that guy for information.

Speechless, Jason stares at the ground, shaking his head. "Sorry, It was dumb. But he deserved it." He pushes past Batman.

Momentarily, you try to reach out for him but stop when you graze his fingers. He pauses for a moment to look at you. His eyes already said enough, the amount of pain and vulnerability in just those couple seconds of eye contact already told you more than you need to know. His hands near-glitch on yours, like he's unsure of if he could or should take you with him. He kept walking.

Once he leaves the cave, you turn and face Bruce.

"He only did what he thought was right. You're being too harsh. There were two other people, and they were shooting at him." You lean against a wall, crossing your arms and waiting on his defense.
