Hello and welcome to the COUNTDOWN SERIES. What if you were born with a clock that counts down to the very moment you meet your soulmate?
this is going to be the first of many chapters/series, so hold on tight mi amigo/Amiga.Happy (late) new year, sweetheart.
>Important reminder at the end<
-
It seems impossible.
To be 100% human and yet have a mechanical clock that counts down to when one would meet their soulmate. There have been theories about the clock. If you break the clock on accident, will you sabotage your own love life? Where did these clocks come from? Does the clock stay on forever? How can we know who our soulmate truly is just by trusting a clock? Does your clock speed up or cut time or add more time if your soulmate chooses to make different decisions? What happens if your clock stops randomly? If it rusts, will we die? Should we be obligated to wait for our soulmate?
You, have answers to only one of those questions.
"Oh my-" you take a look at the time on your wrist, noticing that the time flew down from 3 years... to 4 days. In four days is the dance, the highschool dance. You didn't want to go to it, though. Freshmen such as yourself didn't always get along with the crowd.
You knew for a fact that it must have certainly been a choice your soulmate had made, all you've been doing was washing the dishes. The answer to the theory of it cutting down time if one of the two made a decision; yes, it does that.
A wave of nervousness overcame you. What if they don't like your appearance? These types of things are one of the few things that matter in life, y'know.
You tell your mother and father about it.
"Oh, oh! You're going to meet your soulmate in just 4 days? Oh, but you're only 14! Oh you're so young, my baby's going to meet their soulmate! I don't know how to feel about this, F/n!"He looks at m/n, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Well, we were 16 when we met, s'only two years older than her, I don't see why you're panicking love." He then casts his eyes upon you."You'll do fine, sweetheart. Remember the drill; if you find out that they're a total creep-"
"Yeah, yeah. Kick 'em and run." You roll your eyes. You wonder what your friends would say about it.
. . .
"Whoa! You should totally go to the dance! That's where they'll be!" F1/n shouts, and your other friends agree.
"I don't really want-"
"I'm just, just asking a question, just a question; how come you're talking like you've got a choice?" F2/n grins. The others laugh, and then f2/n looks at you seriously.
