Allison's POV
I can tell by Piper's quick breaths that she is as scared as I should be. The funny thing is, as I watch my wolf get away, I'm not frightened at all. In fact, I surprise myself by feeling disappointed that he is leaving.
My Wolf
One thought is all that is occupying my mind, why on earth am I referring to this wild beast as mine? But he isn't a beast. He's beautiful. He was a beautiful black color that shone in the moonlight. Even from far away, I could see his gorgeous blue eyes shining in the dark. Those same eyes held some flecks of grey that I could only make out when he faced the moon behind us.
"What the hell just happened, Alice?" Piper whispers, once she regains her breathing. I'm thinking about what I will say, because honestly I have no idea what just happened, when we hear the screeching of tires and a Pitbull song blaze out of nearby speakers.
"We will talk about this later." I state, quietly. We look around and notice that while we have been in our own little worlds, the party has started. We both unbuckle our seat belts and step out of the car. I am immediately hit with the breathtaking scent of the forest. It smells amazing and I can hear the scamper of animals running beneath the branches in the distance. Wait-What? I can hear WHAT?
"I don't know what you're talking about Alice. Because, personally, I know I didn't just see some humongous tall-wolf-thingy staring at us. NOPE! HAHAHAA not me!"
"Are you OK? You sound a bit.. off."
Piper looks over at me, opens her mouth then closes it, until she huffs, straightens her dress and hair, then takes my hand and leads me towards the cabin.
"We are going to have a fun time! This is your sweet sixteen, so it better be sweet. Now, when we get in we will find Ashton and then we will have the time of our lives!" Piper says excitedly, though she sounds more like she is trying to convince herself of this than me. "And also we will-Allison, honey, reach in my purse and get the comb, you hair looks like it went through a tornado- anyways, we will find some hotties to dance with and drink our troubles away!"
"Piper, we're sixteen." I say as I give her back her comb and she gives me a grin in approval at my hair. She ignores my comment.
We walk up to the Nights' cabin, Piper's arm, and mine intertwined. Piper pauses before opening the door, looking at me expectantly. We both mentally count to three then breathe on each other, and lift up our noses, then smile to check for remnants from our last meals. We both nod our heads in approval and giggle together at our tradition since elementary school.
The moment we go inside, I can smell the stench of alcohol and sweat from dancing teens. I wrinkle my nose in disgust. Piper looks over at me with questioning eyes,
"My god it stinks, can't you smell that?" I ask, loudly over the blaring music.
"Smell what?" Piper replies, looking confused. I mouth never mind to her.
Piper squeals in delight, she must be at a different party than me because this is not squeal-worthy. Dylan O'Brien. Harry Styles. Tom Felton. Josh Hutcherson. Now those are creatures worth squealing at. OK Alice, snap out of it.
Piper pulls me over to a group of people sitting on a couch, but I immediately recognize one. He jumps up and smiles that breath-taking smile, while pulling me into a tight embrace.
"HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHMAS ALICEY!" My, and Piper's, best friend Ashton Parker screams in my ear. I immediately cringe as my knees give out from the pain shooting through my ears to my head. Ash notices my discomfort and holds me up. I hear him mutter,
