~Allison's POV~
"Shit! Guys, you may want to see this." Max says. Emily, Derek, Ash and I are all in one of the big sitting rooms in the Cellar. The packhouse is still being rebuilt after the fire, and since Dylan and I heard the rogues talking, no one has been above ground.
"What's going on?" Emily asks.
Max turns up the volume on our television. Despite being underground, we are still connected to the world above. Max is on the news channel and we all make a small gasp when we read the headline: 'Teenage Foster Girl Escapes From Home'
"I always knew she was a bad child, she talked back, and constantly misbehaved. I tried reasoning with her and spending time with her, but she would always threaten me." The middle-aged woman says to a blonde-haired reporter. "It was only a matter of time before she would escape, I just hope for her safety, she will be caught."
"Judy, you're so full of it." I say to the television as my foster mother puts on an innocent act and attempts to look sorrowful while the lady asks her more questions about my disappearance.
"How long has Miss Allison Bell been missing now?" The reporter asks Judy.
Judy has a faint smirk, that only someone who knows her would catch, "a few days." Then she blows her nose, and dabs her dry eyes with a napkin.
"A few days?!" Derek yells. "You've been here over a week! She didn't even noticed her only foster child was gone!"
"Well not to worry, we will have everyone on the streets looking for Miss Allison." The blonde lady says.
"This is bullshit! Now you won't be able to walk down the street without them snatching you up and shipping you back to that bitc-"
"-Derek, I'm mad too but calm down." I say, gently, knowing how dangerous my brother can get when angry.
"Calm down? What if you weren't here with us right now. What if you had gotten kidnapped? Judy wouldn't have even known the difference! You could've been killed by now!"
A growl silences the murmurs of agreement and disgust. "How about we not speak about my mate dying." Dylan's voice commands as he steps into the room with Carson.
My mate. I adore the sound of that.
"God, yes Wonderland, we know you two are so very taken with one another but can you please keep your thoughts to yourself." Ash says, sounding sassy.
I purse my lips, "I would if I could!"
Dylan's face suddenly snaps to face me and it looks so painful that I wince. "You still don't know how to control your thoughts." It's not a question but a statement. "You need to learn. Now. It's too dangerous to have you walking around unprotected."
"When should we teach her?" Carson asks, walking to stand side-by-side with Dylan. Dang, I mean I know they're twins, but I forget how much they look so similar. Except for the eyes, of course. Dylan's eyes are gorgeous.
Emily suddenly giggles, "maybe we should teach her sooner than later." She says as Dylan smirks triumphantly and Ash & Max starts chuckling. I scowl, wrinkling my nose. You would think Ash and Max were the couple, they're like the same person.
Ash wriggles his eyebrows at Max suggestively which makes Carson's nostrils flare.
"Come on, Allison." Emily says, trying to change the subject. "Let's go get dressed then we can all meet in the spare room."
I follow Emily into the room we share with Hilary, there may be plenty of space down here, but that doesn't mean we have enough room for everyone to be by themselves. We enter our room. The beige paint peeling off in multiple areas, and spider webs hanging in the corners, showing how long it's been since it's been occupied. Hilary is on the top bunk of the bunk bed she shares with Emily. She's painting her toe nails, and reading. I didn't know she read? I subtly go onto the tips of my toes to see a magazine laying across her lap. Figures, why didn't I realize she wasn't that type.
