Once again, watch for point of view changes!

~Allison's POV~

Rogues attack from all sides, biting, kicking, punching. I want to scream and fight but I can't move, I'm too cold. I watch as a rogue takes a running start at Derek from behind, my eyes widen but there's nothing I can do to help. Hilary catches a glance of him and punches the rogue in the face before it can hurt my brother. I suddenly can't remember why I never liked Hilary.

"I swear, Dylan! If we die because of her I'm going to kill you!" She screams. Oh yeah, that's why. She grunts as a rogue tackles her to the side. She shifts, her clothes ripping and her natural brown wolf jumping onto the rogue in human form. I close my eyes, hearing the splatter as she crushes him. I don't have the strength to shiver, but my body has a mind of its own.

"Carson, come help me!" Dylan yells, punching rogues that try to attack us. Emily seems to have disappeared. "We need to get Alice back to the pack house, she's too cold."

Carson glances down at me, "Hey there, Ally. Let's get you home, yeah?"

"We need to get her back-"

Carson interrupts Dylan, "I can take her back-"

"No!" Dylan growls, "She's MY mate. I am taking her. I've already lost her before, it's not happening again."

"Then what-" Carson huffs, throwing punches in blind directions at the rogues who don't seem to like this casual conversation in the middle of the battle zone, "am I supposed to do?"

"Follow us, I'm going to shift and carry her back and I need you to cover me while Hilary, Derek, Max and Charlie get rid of the rest." Dylan says, carefully handing me to Carson. Dylan reaches his hand out and brushes hair out of my face. "Don't worry, we will be home soon and I won't let anyone hurt you ever again."

Carsonholds me to his chest, looking down with scared eyes. "Dyl, she doesn't look very good." Carson says, Dylan growls in response having already shifted. Carson puts me on Dylan's back. "Hang on, Ally."

As Dylan begins to sprint through the trees, I can't help but think: How am I supposed to hang on when my limbs are too numb to grab anything. My eyes flutter closed, my lungs are closing in. It's a horrible pain, but I can't cry out. My chest tightens, the air won't enter my lungs. It's a burning sensation, like drowning. I want to claw at my chest but it takes all my lasting energy to hang on to Dylan as he whips through the forest.

There's the sound of footsteps following us and I can't smell anything to give me an idea if it's a loved one or a threat. My senses are shutting off. I can tell its a threat when Dylan picks up pace, zigzagging through the trees to try and lose them. I try to reopen my eyes but there is only the inevitable blackness. Inevitable. I feel my heart slowing, I ignore the pain, only waiting for it to be over.  My Gift shines through, I can hear Dylan's thinking, even as he tries to block his thoughts out. His head rests on mine as I hear the last words I will hear him think.

Please, I can't lose you. Alice, I love you.

~Hilary's POV~

Stupid rogues. I scream out in anger, launching myself at a group filled with what must be preteens, they see me coming and run off to hide. Cowards.

"Derek!" I yell, looking around for my newest Beta.

I hear yelps and crashes, Derek throws a rogue against a tree, breaking the tree in half. I roll my eyes, that wasn't necessary. Max slams a rogue to the ground, kicking it between the eyes. Very unnecessary. Charlie grabs two rogues by the back of their shirts, slamming their heads together. You go, baby!
