Dylan's POV

My heart is pounding so hard I think my chest will burst. I grab the most important person in my life, as of now, and drag her to the surface. Once I reach the air, I breathe in deeply and bring the beautiful girl to my chest. I kick my legs to the edge, where Derek is waiting to bring her out of the water.

"Max you idiot! You could have killed her!" Ashton screams, looking like he is going to burst into tears at any moment. Max and Carson both look like the're going to throw up. Emily has a blank stare, but she's trembling.

"Damn it! Help us get her warm!" I yell. We pull her out and I immediately realize a fatal problem.

Derek beats me to it-"Who knows mouth-to-mouth?!" We all look around frantically. Max runs over to the girl and bends down. He pushes on her chest, and blows into her mouth. I can't do anything but cover her with the towels. There is no way Max is getting to basically kiss my mate, feel her up, and see her almost naked! OK, now might not be the time to be possessive.

"This is all my fault." I hear Derek muttering, "I knew she couldn't swim. I still let her come in the pool. What if she doesn't make it? What would mom do- OH MY GOD-What would dad do? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? Oh my little Alice," and he breaks down in sobs.

Alice.

That is my new favorite name.

I move back and grab her hand, it's as cold as ice. Her lips have turned purple and her pulse is barely visible. Max continues reviving her while I wonder why no one has called the Pack Doctor yet.

"Doc! We have a problem, out by the pool NOW!" I mind-link to him.

Doc is here in the blink of an eye.

"What are you doing, boy? MOVE!" He screams at Max. He starts pushing on her chest and I let an involuntary growl escape my lips. Doc ignores me.

It feels like years pass but I'm sure it's only seconds until I hear mangled coughs and my beautiful mate sits up, coughing water on herself. I position her in front of me so she is laying on my chest, her legs between mine. I grab the dry towels and replace the wet ones to cover her while she continues to get rid of the dreaded fluids.

"Thank you, Doc."

"Oh my god, thank you!"

"It's all my fault!"

"She's OK!" Are the replies I hear once she is all cleared and leans back against me. Doc gives me a nod that I return with a smile and he goes back inside, knowing I will take care of her. Derek runs towards her and scoops her into his arms. I growl, not quite happy that he took her away from me. I look around and see Carson smiling like he won the lottery, looking at Alice the way Derek does. Emily is standing off to the side, looking like she doesn't know what to do with herself. I catch her glance and she gives me a small smile before she runs to Alice and hugs her, the girls muttering things making Alice blush and Emily smirk.

"Allison Marie Bell! Don't you ever scare me like that again! Understand?" Derek says, tears streaming down his face. He wraps his arms around her and closes his eyes. Alice smiles, a sight that warms my heart and makes my inner wolf overjoyed.

"I hate water," is her answer. Even in the worrisome atmosphere that has appeared, everyone laughs while Max and I smirk.

When I walked out back earlier, I smelt her immediately. Vanilla. The scent was intoxicating and mouthwatering. Then I saw her, she was beautiful, when our eyes met I could see how truly green her eyes were, especially in the sun. Not to mention she looked hot as hell in the little black bikini, I recognized as Emily's.
