Chapter 15 - Duel Start

As we both entered the tower, the match was about to get started, Yami looks towards his battle royale opponents closely, glaring straight towards Marik as he was his main target. Marik was the first to go,which then lead him up towards the dueling field for the first duel to comence, which was facing the next person lost in the battle royal. Seto brought Joey's life points to 0, which finished the Battle Royale. Joey was brought to the top and would then have to go up against Marik in the semi-finals.

This is not going to end well...

Joey Wheeler, Yugi's best friend, is up against the worst person to ever mess with in this tournament, Marik. You feel the sudden cold chills down my spine and small signs of, wait, fear? You should be feeling angry, but something or maybe, someone is making me feel this emotion. My Other.

We may be freed from that monster. however, our spirit is till trapped within his grasp.

Our spirit?

The Egyptian God that revealed me to you of course. Ra itself.

In all that has happened, this is not what you would expect to push you into a story you never knew. The only thing you know about your own past was the flashbacks that have occurred so far, but nothing like this.
I mean that kiss like... wow. That was unexpected but you know, you can't blame him. He's just. Oh god.

You didn't. Did you?

He started it!

That is a rule breaker against our kind you know. I can't believe you.

As an unsuspected turn of events that guardians must apply to. These rule must be obeyed or else if known sent to trial to determine the fate of the law breaker.

(Y/n) was baffled from the information given to her, she never knew that falling for the pharaoh was a crime to her guardian nature. As a result the two worked out a promise to not spread the rumour.

But, what if it were to happen again, but it still wasn't my fault?

Then as long as the HQ or Heaven Quarters (haha I'm funny :,,) doesn't find out about it, then we should be fine. However, if word should spread, than exile won't be our punishment this time around.

The pieces seem to keep appearing about our past, but not fit in the right spots provided. Except for the Pharaoh, his life span, memories, and name, A-. Nothing. Not even the thoughts of the mind will allow you to reveal his true name given at birth. My throat was burning and tightening on itself, not allowing me to speak after trying to pronounce even the first letter of his own name. It's horrible.

We mustn't speak his name, especially in front of the Pharaoh. It is a name forbidden until the original person figures it out first.

Lovely.

Anyway, this isn't the real issue at hand. Your new friend is in danger, and not only that, if what your other says is true, is that Joey might have a small chance in winning.

I don't know who this man you call Joey is, however, I do believe if he is a friend of ours? He won't go down without a fight.

True. But. What about?

She knew what you meant to say, but You didn't continue. You knew he would worry, however, the only thing we can do, is comfort him. As the large lift increased in height and reached the top, the figure of the Pharaoh stood stiff and tall. After walking towards him, his face showed concern for his dear friend.

You gave him a worried, small smile for comfort. "He will do his very best, and win." You looked back towards the field where Joey and Marik stared at one another in a staring showdown.

Yami turned his focus towards you next to him, but looked back to the duelist about to compete in a duel. Which would obviously turn into a Shadow Game. "He shouldn't be up against him. I should have been the one to duel him, he could get hurt." He says.

"Well, I guess destiny is not on our side today."

Speaking of another client's identity from HQ, is an offence.

Destiny is a real person!?!?

"If destiny is not on our side, I just hope this Destiny, is on Joey's at least." Yami replies.

You nod at his remark about Destiny that apparently is actually a person.

We need to discuss these so called rules at one point.

If it makes you stop getting into more trouble than we are already in, then as soon as possible.

You mean ASAP?

What? You mean, 'a sap'?

You just face palmed yourself which got a twitch from Yami's head turning towards you.

"Sorry, just face palming towards my own conscious." You answered.

Yami nodded before turning back.

Whew.

The whole duel was painful, and horrifying to watch, but you never given up on that happy-go-lucky friend of yours.

But. The one card he had to play to win, It was never placed on the field. As a limp Joey fell forward towards the ground, too exhausted and in agony to continue.

It was over. He lost.
For that, he had to pay the awful price.

It was excruciatingly painful to see. We were shocked. He was so close.

Yami looked even more in pain. He even made himself change to Yugi in order for him to support his best friend.

It was, just, sad. You felt pain and... fear. These emotions, It consumed your soul, but not filled with darkness.

We will never burn out our light. Not till our last dying breath.
