I was talking to Aj when Rei suddenly stood up.

“Excuse me.” She ran outside. I wanted to follow her but there’s a part of my mind that’s telling me not to.

Binalik ko yung tingin ko kay Aj at masayang nakipag-usap sakaniya ng magvibrate yung cellphone ko.

Dude, sundan mo si Rei before it’s too late.

 

Napatingin ako kay Kai at nakita kung gaano siya kaseryoso. He gave me a nod as I looked at Aj.

“Excuse me for a while. I’ll be back.” Tumayo na ako mula sa aking pagkakaupo at lumabas na.

I searched the vicinity of the café only to find out that Rei was sitting alone at the garden.

I slowly approached her and noticed that her head was looking at the ground.

“Rei…” She lifted her head and I was shocked to see the tears falling from her eyes.

Agad ko siyang itinayo at kinulong sa aking yakap. Napapikit nalang naman ako ng maramdaman ko kuryente na dumaloy sa aking katawan ng magdampi ang aming mga balat. How I missed hugging her like this.

 

“I still love you, Kris.” Napamulat ako dahil sakaniyang sinabi at bahagyang lumayo sakaniya.

“Walang oras na hindi ka pumasok sa isip ko. Walang oras na hindi ako umiyak dahil sa kasalanang nagawa ko.” Sabi niya sa pagitan ng kaniyang pag-iyak.

Napailing naman ako at humakbang pa papalayo sakaniya. “You’re lying. You-you’re just manipulating me just to hurt me again.”

Lumapit naman siya sa akin at hinawakan ang aking pisngi. Nakita ko ang sakit sakaniyang mga mata. Patuloy lang ang kaniyang pag-iyak ng idikit niya ang kaniyang noo sa aking dibdib.

“It was never my fault that you didn’t believe in me the way I believed in you.” She said, almost a whisper.

“Will you please take me back?” She said out of desperation.

I didn’t answer and just stood there. I felt her embrace as she tiptoed and reached my lips.

As our lips touched, the memories kept on coming back.

“I love you, Kris. So much… Goodbye.” She let go of me and started to walk away.

I wanted to follow her but it’s like my feet are glued on the ground. My heart broke the moment she disappeared right in front of me.
