I woke up to dim lights. Not only did they seem to have power but they also had the adjustable lights

They gave us clean clothes, a big relief and they even said they had a shower but they had to fix it. I'm looking forward too that tonight.

I sat up in the bed. I wanted to scrunch up to Jake, but he wasn't their. The memory of what pastor wade said hit.

I almost cried out loud, but I held it in and laid back down.

Why would he leave

I wanted to scream. To cry.

I sat up in the bed and seen Ellie was still asleep. I got up and put on some day clothes they gave to us.

White shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

I took note that they kept this place warm, unlike the outside world. Cold.

I stepped out of the room.

I started to slowly and curiously walk down the hallway to the left of where they brought us in.

"Nate, find anything?"

"Oh pastor wade, I'm sorry I was just exploring"

"Dangerous thing, well come this way"

She was wearing a white clinging robe. She was very skinny, her blonde hair touched near her shoulder blades.

I followed her into a large room. It was an improvised church by the looks.

Their was about twenty people here. That I could see.

Their was small candelabras dotting the ceiling. The lined the walls too. The room was entirely symmetrical.

A big cross sat in the middle of the room.

"No chairs?"

"No, we stay on our knees in this place, thanking the lord and praising him"

She stood still, admiring the cross.

"Lets us move on" she said

I followed her into a big cafeteria room.

"This is the supper room"

She walked us to a line and handed me a tray.

I followed her through. It's was a nice size kitchen and the food looked decent.

I grabbed eggs, a biscuit, sausage and a bottle of water.

I sat across from pastor wade. I took a bite, and then felt her eyes on me.

"Oh I'm sorry.." I said embarrassed

"It's ok Nate"

I prayed. It's been a while.
