"Friends"

Chapter 18

Masons POV

I wake up again to see alexus sleeping. I get up as quietly as i can and leave. I walk outside and start heading home. I stop and start heading for a crafts store. I walk in grab some rope, pay and leave. Noe i start walking home, while i start to tie the rope to make a noose. After i finished it, i look up to see my house so i walk in and get prepared. I write down on a piece of paper, "if something happens it happens for a reason right?". I tie the noose around something i think is secure and stsnd on a chair. I put the noose and stand on the chair, then i kick it away. I feel the rope tighten around my neck as i swing around. I stop fighting the urge to stop, so i just swing there, while my world gets darker. I close my eyes and try to say good bye.

Gracies's POV

I drive around doing nothing. I drive by masons house and turn around. I might as well check on him. I knock on his door and nobody answers. I keep knocking, but then turn around to see this lady walking in mt direction. She starts saying,"You here for mason?", "yeah" i say. "He is 3 months past late on payment","can you open the door for me?". I'm not supposed to but im feeling good so i suppose i can let it slide this time". She starts opening the door and the first thing i see is a dangling body hanging from the roof. I look away and start to cry. The other lady starts calling the ambulance. 4 minutes go by and i can hear the sirens. They get here and put mason down on a stretcher. The roll him in and i jump in too, holding masons hand, praying that he is not dead. We get there and they roll mason away, and tell me to wait. I sit there and after what feels to be hours pass by before a nurse says i can see him now. Look at mason his face really pale, and ask if he is going to be alright. They said he is still breathing but he will never be able to wake up. I look away and say, "so... so he is bas.. basically and dead body breathing". He looks at me and says"im sorry to say but yes". I call alexus and tell her everything that has happened. She tells me that she is on her way. When she gets here i see isaac following her. She grabs masons hand and starts to cry. Isaac pulls her away and says lets go. She pushes isaac away and grabs masons hand again mumbling things under her breathe. Isaac walks out and leaves the building. I ask alexus if her and isaac are dating and she said yes. I look at mason and watch him lay there hopelessly listening to the heart machine thing. Why mason why?

Masons POV

I get lost into my thoughts think about if it was the right choice. I start to feel pressure on my hand but can't seem to do anything, not even open my eyes. I start to think again and wonder if this is how it feels to be dead. I lay there and start to have thinking about how it felt to hang myself i try to stop thinm about it but the more i think about it the hard it gets to breathe.

Gracie's POV

I hear the heart machine thing start beating faster and faster. I start to worry and and the thought crosses my thoughts the machine goes blank, with a noise that doesn't beat its just flat. The doctor grabs the electrical things and rubs them together then says "CLEAR" then he pushs the things against masons chest and masons body jolts up, then back down. He does it again but this time the machine starts beating. I feel relief and alexus looks like she has just had a heart attack. I walk out thinking i need a breather, think that mason doesnt have alot of those left. I close my eyes and start to cry.
