I woke up with a big goofy grin plastered on my face. It was almost noon. I decided to check on Zee first. I opened the door slightly and saw that he was still fast asleep. I put a glass of water and 2 aspirins on the nightstand. I knew he would need it. His head would hurt like a bitch after he woke.
I decided to shower first and picked a huge sweatshirt and shorts. After that I checked my phone and saw that I had 2 missed calls from Chase, one from Sam and one from Jason, my brother. He was just a year younger. There had been some change of plans and he would be coming to stay with me very soon even though initially he had planned to go to Paris for high school.
I texted Chase letting him know I got home safely yesterday and that I'd call him later. Sam had probably called to check on me and I texted him letting him know I was okay. I'd call Jason later.
When I headed down, I smelled Bacon and went to the kitchen. See stood there, and it felt like he belonged. He saw me standing there, watching him and smiled almost as if he was embarrassed.
"Hey."
"Hey yourself. That smells amazing."
"Thanks. A good breakfast always helps to get rid of the hangover."
"It does. Would you like some coffee?"
"Yup."
I made two coffees for us, mine with sugar and milk. Unlike most Americans, I preferred my coffee to be sweet and creamy.
"Sugar?"
"2 cubes. No milk."
We sat there munching our breakfast. For once in my life, I couldn't figure out what to say. Awkward silences weren't something common before. But I was Sasha now. I couldn't talk to him like Shanaya could.
"Thanks. For helping me and bringing me here yesterday."
"No problem. I was happy to help."
"Did I uhm.. do or say something embarrassing yesterday?"
When he asked me that I wasn't sure what to tell him. Then I remembered all that he'd done yesterday night and I couldn't help it. I started laughing right there. The rolling on the floor kind, except I didn't roll on the floor. That would have been embarassing. He looked at me half amused and half nervous. I didn't want to tell him yet. I had to devise a scheme, something that would let me spend more time with him. Then I had an idea. When my laughter subsided he looked at me expectantly.
"You did some pretty hilarious stuff he yesterday. I'm pretty sure people even have recordings of some. Then we both roamed around later for long and even then you did some.. things."
Just thinking about it made me want to laugh again. He saw the look on my face.
"Tell me."
"I'll tell you later. Check your phone first. I'm pretty sure people will be worried."
"My phone's dead. Do you have a charger I could use?"
"Sure."
I gave it to him and cleaned the kitchen for a while. He offered to help but I asked him to let everyone know he was okay first. After I finished cleaning up, I headed to the living room.
"I'm fine really."
"No, I'm.. not home right now."
"If you must know I'm at Sasha's place."
