Freddy's POV

When I got home from school, I heard my mom calling me:
"Freddy! Come here!"
"Hey, mom! You called me?"
"Yes. I need you to babysit your sister this afternoon."
"Okay!"
"By the way, have you found a new tutor?"
"Yes. It's my friend Summer!"
"Can you ask her to tutor you today? I want you to get an A on next week's exam." Ugh!
"Uhm, yeah, I guess..."
"Great! Love you, honey! Your sister is at her bedroom."
"Bye, mom!"
With that, she left and I went to Lulu's bedroom to check on her.
"Freddy!!" She said and came running to me.
"Hey, Lulu! I'm gonna babysit you today."
"Yayy! You're way cooler than mommy!" Wow. Savage!
I laughted at her and started texting Summer.

Me
Hey Sum! Are you free
to tutor me today? You
can come to my house.

Sorry, Freddy. I can't go.
I'm babysitting my brother.
But I can tutor you if you
come to my house!!

Lulu is 5 too! I'll take her.

"Lulu!" I said. "Let's go!"
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"To my friend's house. She has a brother that is your age!"
"Okay! Let's go!"
We arrived at Summer's house and rang the doorbell. Summer and a mini masculine version of her opened the door.
We introduced Lulu and Max, and went to the living room, while they went to the backyard.
Me and Summer reviewed a few topics and she gave me some exercises. She told me to do them while she check on the kids.
When she got back, I asked her for help with an exercise.
She came and showed me how to do it. It was quite easy, now that I understand.
She went to the kitchen to make her famous chocolate chips cookies (probably because of the dare I gave her yesterday).
While she was gone, I just thought about what my mom said to me a few days ago. I'm getting some bad grades on math, so she told me I should find another tutor, since the other 5 left after saying that I was dumb and that I would never be able to learn anything. That words really hurted me. Was I that stupid?
Summer was coming back with a plate of cookies and 2 glasses of orange juice.
"Are you done?" She asked me.
"Yes. Thanks, Summer! You're a life safer."
I smiled at her and she smiled back. I decided to ask her opinion about this whole situation:
"Sum, can I ask you something?"
"Of couse!"
"Do you promise you'll be honest?"
"I promise."
"My parents told me to find a tutor because they think I'm dumb. You're like, the 5th tutor I have. They all left, because they thought I would never be able to learn anything. Do you think I'm that stupid?" I asked her. I could feel tears forming on my eyes and my voice cracking. I hope she'll be honest.
"Oh, Freddy... Of couse not! Actually, I think you're pretty smart! You just have to find a way to use this. And I'll help you! I'm your tutor after all! But, mostly important, I'm your friend. I will not leave you, no matter what."
"Really?"
"Really."
"T-Thank you..." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Aw, Freddy... Please, don't cry..." She said, giving me a big hug. "It's gonna be okay. I'm right here for you, I promise you..."
She let me cry on her shoulder and started rubbing my back. I feel like we're becoming really close friends. She's like a sister to me now. We take care of each other, no matter what. She's a really good friend.
Even though I want to be more...
