Chapter 11: Right in front of you

Molly's was fairly quiet and only had the usual characters. Jay and Will had decided to spend some brotherly time together so they decided to sit on their own at the end of the bar. 

"What can I get for you?" Gabby asked as she headed the bar.

"A pint on tap and-" Jay began but altered after he glanced at his brother. "We'll have two. Thanks Gabby"

Will took the beer that his brother offered and quickly began to drink. Jay continued to watch his brother as he stared towards the wall. Something was clearly on his mind. "Okay, what's going on?"

"Zoe" Will said simply.

"What about her?"

"I knew this would happen, from the first day I met her I knew one day this would happen and I'd ruin our friendship." Will rambled on.

Jay couldn't help but chuckle at his brother. Will glared at his brother who quickly stopped laughing. "I'm not laughing" 

 "Come on. It's only know you're seeing it?"  Jay asked. He shook his head and continued. "If you really love her go and get her"

"You think she'd want to go there?" Will said almost nervously. 

Jay turned to his brother as if he had grown two heads. "Of course she would." Jay shook his head.

It has been 10 months since Zoe and Jamie returned to Hawaii. Since moving here the family of two have come to terms with loss and have started and resolved relationships of the past. Zoe had finally mourned over the death of her late husband had decided that it was time she moved on with her life.

She had been on a few dates here and there but the guys all referred to her as the 'hot mom' which just made Zoe cringe in her seat. She had even been out for a few drinks with Ruzek but it was clear that they were just good friends.

Even though Jamie loved the ohana they had in Hawaii it felt so much more reassuring and safe to him. He missed Steve and Danny who e both referred to as his Uncles but having his Uncle Will around again made him happy and that had been obvious to anyone who took the time to notice.

Last night Will had gone to meet with Jay at Molly's for a catch up and when he returned he retreated to his room without a word. He had been acting really strange lately and Zoe was beginning to get concerned. Jamie had started to ask questions about why Will was so good to them and all she could reply was 'because he's a good man James'.

Zoe and Jamie were left pottering around the apartment when Will left that morning, he had gave the pair a curt greeting and smiled when they got out of bed but other than that he just left for his shift.

After getting their breakfast Zoe sent Jamie to go change.

"Jamie. We're going to see Uncle Toni. He's got Eva and Diego today"  

"Do you think they'll play with me?" Jamie asked slightly nervous. He had only briefly met the Dawson children when they had visited the mother and son.

"Course they will" Zoe smiled. "Come on. Let's head down. We're taking the truck today kiddo" 

"Why?" Jamie asked. It seemed to be his favorite question currently.

"Well my baby boy the Impala doesn't seem to want to start and momma's got to go to work later so I'm gonna take the truck" Zoe explained as the packed the last of her things into her bag.

"Okay" Jamie accepted the answer and bounced towards the door.

She quickly grabbed her keys and left the apartment with her mini me following close behind. Unlocking the truck, Jamie and Zoe quickly hopped in.
