Chapter 20

Your POV

I woke up and was instantly blinded by a light. I blinked and let my eyes adjust. I had blurry vision and sat up. I shot my head up and looked around. There were people around me.

"(Y/n) calm down.."

Stein..  I looked around. I didn't see him. I rose a brow. I was met with a softly smiling Spirit.

"Nice to have you back with the living."

I nodded and he chuckled. "I'll  get Maka and the others. They've been quite worried." He said. I nodded again and watched him leave.

"Tell me.. What is Arachne to you?"

I heard his voice again. It echoed in my ears as I looked around. I heard him sigh.

"Well?"

"Well what?"

"Aren't you going to answer me?"

"Aren't you going to let me see you?"

There was a pause. I heard the clicking of his screw as he turned it. He stepped out from behind a changing curtain. I smiled softly. He looked at me before looking intently at the floor.

"I'll ask again. What is Arachne to you?"

I looked at my hands. "After what happened. I'm not so sure anymore. You know what happened you saw it first hand. Aren't you supposed to be answering the questions? Not asking them?"

It fell silent after that. He sat on the edge of the bed. "I only want what's best for you. You know that, right?" He asked. I nodded silently.

"I can help. But just... Tell me what's going on."

My head shot up to see him. "I can't help you until I myself know what's going on. Don't any of you understand that?" I sighed as I covered my face. I felt his hands wrap around my wrists.

"We can figure it out together. Just relax okay?" He asked. I nodded and looked st him. He smiled and leaned down kissing my forehead. I smiled at him. The door opened slowly to reveal Maka and the others.

I smiled as they walked in. Stein stood and walked over to talk to Spirit.

"How are you feeling?" Maka asked.
"I'm alive. So that's a start." I said. She smiled and Patty laughed. "Hey now that you're awake can you draw me a giraffe?" She asked.

Liz glared at her before giving me a small smile. "Sorry (y/n)." She said. I shrugged. "I grew up with two younger siblings. I'm used to it." I said. She nodded.

"When do you think you can have it done??" Patty asked. I sighed and smiled. "The sooner I can get out of this bed." I said. Stein looked st Mr before getting a clip board and a pencil along with paper. He walked back over and handed them to me.

"Why wait when you can have them watch?" He asked. I chuckled and began drawing.

"Don't play that with me. I've caught you watching me draw before." I said smirking. He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah." He mumbled.

The others chuckled as they watched. I finished it and signed it before giving it to Patty. "Does this satisfy your needs?" I asked. She took it and did a dance. I smiled and Liz looked at me. "Thanks (y/n)." She said. I nodded.

"Well... I think its time you guys go. You do have homework and (y/n) needs rest." Stein said standing from is chair. They nodded and silently filed out. I looked at Stein. "You just wanted alone time." I said.

He shrugged and sat back on the bed. "True. But besides you're still in trouble." He said. I rose a brow. "What for?" I asked. "You slapped my ass during a mission. PDA is not allowed during school events... Or school jobs." He said. I smirked. "Yeah you liked it." I said.

He stood. "That very well may be so. Doesn't mean you're not off the hook Missy." He said. I chuckled as he leaned back down and kissed me deeply. "You're in so much trouble when we get home." He purred. "Mmhm." I smirked. "What are ya gonna do to me? Tie me up? Blindfold me? Strip?" I asked. He glared at me as he crossed his legs. "You knock that off." He growled.

"What for? Your friend seems to enjoy it" I said. He stood and unhooked me from the IV needle. He let me of of bed and I stretched. My shirt rose up and he looked away. I smirked and got changed.

We left soon after and we walked home. I walked through the metal doors and sighed deeply. "Its good to be home." I said. He pulled me closer to his chest by my hips. "It's nice to have my baby girl home." He said. I smiled and pulled him into a kiss by his shirt. "I love you..." I said. He smiled as he pulled me closer and nibbled on my ear. "I love you too."
