~Okay this song doesn't really go with the chapter, but Heathers is a great musical and this is my favourite song, my dudes.¯\_(ツ)_/¯~
Your eyes slowly cracked open. You were lying on a simple mat on the floor and were covered in a blanket made of some strange material. Where am I? The wall you were facing looked as if it were made out of thick glass, or--you cautiously reached out to touch it, the surface chilling your skin on contact--ice? A mix of confusion and panic overcame you. You tried to sit up, but your muscles were stiff, and a migraine made its presence known in all corners of your skull. You groaned in pain and bent forward, resting your pounding head in your palms on your lap.
"Oh good, you're finally awake," Bill muttered, annoyed.
"Ci-Cipher? Ugh, everything hurts."
You started to turn your head in the direction of his voice, but another wave of pain rushed over you, causing you to clench your hair in your fingers and squeeze your eyes shut. Your hair felt... different. You slowly felt what was left of your locks.
"What... my hair..."
"I was profoundly bored and frustrated after saving your life, so I took the liberty of taming that nuisance you called your hair. It is your fault that we're in this mess after all."
"Cipher what the hell," you yelled, immediately regretting it. You massaged your temples.
"Hon, you might want to lie back down," a tender voice proposed. "Your body just went through a tremendous shock. Resting would be the best thing for you right now. You don't mind me touching you, do you, hon? I just want to help back to your pillow."
Your eyes were still shut in pain so you couldn't see the being, their voice sounded feminine, but you couldn't be sure. They seemed friendly enough, either way.
"Nah, that's alright. Thank you," you said in a soft, pain-soaked voice.
You felt them shift to kneel on the floor, gently place their hand on your back, and lead you back down. They started petting your forehead, their cool skin relieving some of your discomforts.
"Be back soon, hon," they said as they stood up and left the room.
"Where are we, Cipher," you asked quietly from your pillow.
"We're definitely not on Rashabuo," he pouted. "It's a beach planet, and I wanted to go on a mini vacation so I could tan my human form. Have you seen how pasty that thing is? It's ghastly, you can practically see right through me, people probably think I'm a vampire!"
You laughed lightly. "And you call me a drama queen."
"You are," he grumbled. "You go out in space for twelve seconds max, and your whole body shuts down."
"How is that my fault again?"
"Learn how to not be a weak human!"
You cracked open an eye to see a blurry triangle floating next to you, arms crossed.
"Says the one who changed back into their triangle form, at the slightest bit of danger," you offered cheekily, closing your eye and smirking.
"WELL, MAYBE NEXT TIME I WON'T SAVE YOUR ASS."
You could feel the anger radiating off of him.
"What's with all of this yelling," your host chastised. "You know that she's in a critical condition."
You stuck your tongue out in Bill's general direction and heard the jingling of dishes coming towards you.
"You're going to have to sit up, hon, so you can drink this."
