Chapter 14
Loki's POV
It usually took more than this to get the Avengers surprised and trust me, he knew. They seemed to always forget everything they knew when Kat was around. It seemed like they all forgot she was some strange super powered girl who Fury had everyone looking for.
It's almost sad to watch, Loki thought. Almost.
Everyone turned to watch as the smug girl swirled the last of her drink and downed it. She swiveled around and walked to the empty lounge chairs that only minutes before had been occupied by the Avengers and Loki himself.
Loki didn't really believe it was her. He had seen how much surveillance had gone into finding the girl and for her to just waltz around not worried about the pesky S.H.I.E.L.D agents finding her she was either extremely good or extremely stupid. Loki couldn't get a foot out the door before Fury was notified and someone was sent to collect him. She may even better than any of them knew. But really, how did she get in? Tony made sure no unwanted guests could make it into the building.
"Kat, what?"
"How did you get in?"
"When did you get here?"
"Kat! How long have you been there?"
"Where were you?"
"Kat!"
6 different voices asked.
Loki stood staring at the Kat who was smirking at the baffled men and Natasha. Loki began to make his way over to her, but before his foot even took the second step Kat jumped up so she was now standing on the back of the armchair causing Loki to stop where he was.
"I will answer your questions now and only now, come and sit." Kat said sharply, almost venomously.
Loki was confused. Why did she come back? Why did she come back to here? Loki didn't know if he thought she was stupid or smart. Even though Loki had stayed with the Avengers for 9 weeks it didn't mean he liked them any better than before. Loki knew the feeling was mutual. Yes they tolerated him but he knew Thor was the only one who wanted him to be there. All Loki wanted to do was learn about this girl and that was the one thing Loki hated most: having something he didn't know. Loki decided it would be best if he stayed relatively quiet for the time being.
"Where have you been?" Natasha asked first sitting down on the closest chair to Kat. Kat let out a long sigh and adjusted her leather jacket. She was still wearing the same clothes as on the computer. Black leather looks good on her Loki noted. Her whole outfit showed her curves in all the right places. Loki could see the other men, even Thor admiring her choice of clothes. Even though she looked 16 before now she looked at least 20 and her real age was into the 300s.
Can't help it. We are male afterall.
Kat, still perched on the top of the chair, let out a long breath. "You know where I've been but I have also been to Mexico, France and South Africa. Oh and I stayed in my hotel for a week" She replied smirking but Loki could see her smile did not reach her eyes.
Tony perked up when she said that as if he knew that already or at least knew something about it.
"Why did you run away at the Pizza place then come back to us?" Tony hesitated before speaking Loki noted, as though it wasn't the question he really wanted to ask.
"I told you I would answer your questions. I never said when though. I decided now since you had already seen me." Loki watched as Kat changed her weight from one foot to the other and looked like she was ready to jump at any moment.
"How did you get past Jarvis?" Bruce queried grinning at the fact someone like Kat had gotten in so easily.
"Someone left their window open. I flew here from the Four Seasons." Kat said looking at Tony.
"Jarvis." Tony demanded looking away from Kat.
"Yes sir. I will make sure this does not happen again." Jarvis said from the walls.
"Why did you leave?" Thor questioned sitting down next to Loki. Loki noticed Kat was reluctant for her eyes to leave Tony, as if he might jump up and run any second.
"I did not like your airship." Kat said simply her eyes leaving Thor and back to Tony. Loki saw that the others were slowly seeing how she was focusing on Tony. They could be so slow sometimes. Loki also became aware that she had yet to smile from her eyes. When she was on the airship Loki could tell she was a trickster like himself, but she liked to muck around and laugh as much as possible. The only thing different about Loki and Kat was that she did it to amuse and not to hurt like he had done before but did not plan to again. Her usual bouncy self was not here. Her gaze was hard and her mouth set in a straight line, very unamused.
Loki watched as Tony squirmed in his seat under Kat's cold stare.
"Uh, Kat, I'm sure you are tired. We will need to contact Fury about you so why don't you have one of the spare rooms here until then." Bruce suggested, trying to save Tony from her attention.
"I would like to speak with you Tony." Kat said, ignoring Bruce and his suggestion.
"Not today Kat. We would like to ask more questions about you." Natasha said firmly.
"Tony. Can I speak with you privately?" Kat asked again completely ignoring Natasha who was normally composed let a bit of anger slip out in a low growl.
I seem to like her more and more. Loki chuckled.
Loki watched as Tony tried to avoid their eyes. Tony stood up, "Yes come this way, we can talk in the shop." Tony said walking down into his workshop.
"Thank you very much and stop staring at me for gods sake! It's not that different from what I wore before!" She shouted as she flew after Tony as all the men averted their eyes at the retreating figure of the mysterious and beautiful girl.
