Chapter 16
Kat's POV
"Do it again!" Tony shouted jumping off the couch like a child. Kat laughed as she had to remind herself that Tony was a child trapped in an adult's body. Kat aimed her staff at the ceiling and fired a blast of white light. As soon as the light hit the roof it froze as ice slowing crept over the ceiling until it was completely covered. Kat tapped the roof with her staff as a blue light shot through the ice like blood through veins and snow began to fall.
Bruce and Kat winced as Tony yelled and jumped around catching the falling snow in his mouth. Bruce sat silently beside her place on the couch quickly tapping numbers into the screen in his hand. He would occasionally catch some snow himself and smile at Kat before getting back to the screen. They had been testing for about an hour now and Kat was kind of bored... And hungry.
"Tony will you actually help me now?" Bruce asked again for the seventh time. Tony groaned and gave Bruce a glare before going and picking up his deserted tablet.
"Jarvis what did you find out?" Tony said smirking making Kat realize he had just got Jarvis to do all the work for him. Kat sighed and jumped up off the couch and made her way to the fridge.
"Sir, I have the information ready, shall I put it up for you?" Jarvis said making Kat smirk, he did everything for Tony. She thought that if he didn't have Jarvis or Pepper he would surely die.
He nodded as the images and notes appeared on the screen. Tony flicked a few across and began to read.
"If your stick was a machine it would be huge. It would have to have huge cylinders of dry ice and water and mixers and mini launchers to shoot the ice and compressors just to create the things you are but no, you have a stick and magical powers." Tony said minimizing the screen and slumping on the couch beside Bruce.
"Told you." She grinned poking out her tongue. She opened this fridge and was not disappointed with the contents. She had guessed they would have good food but she didn't expect there to be so much of it. She gasped and turned to Tony who was frowning at the screen in his hands.
"When you use your staff I thought that you created the ice out of thin air but somehow you and your staff control the water molecules in the air quickly manipulating them to whatever you want, it's amazing." Bruce complimented stretching his legs and standing. Kat felt happy to know he now felt comfortable around her because at first he was wary and would keep a safe distance away. Now, he would laugh and joke with her making her thankful of a new friend. Which she really hoped he was, it wasn't that often when she made friends and now, she hoped, she had seven.
"Why in the nine realms do up you have so much food?" Kat laughed grabbing a pot of ice cream from the freezer.
"Have you ever seen Thor eat?" Bruce asked chuckling and turning so he could see Kat as she made the melted ice cream hard again. Soon after they had started the 'testing' the others had all disappeared and she hadn't seen them since.
"You use that expression too?" Tony asked.
"What?"
"Nine realms, that's what Point Break and Reindeer Games say." He retorted smiling at catching her out.
"Jeffery used to say it and I picked it up." She sloshed her mouth half full of ice cream. Tony mouth shaped in a O as he went back to frowning at the screen flipping images over and typing in notes and commands.
"You are amazing if you can do stuff even two super geniuses can't fully explain." Tony said shutting down the tablet and changing the subject quickly. She didn't reply but continued to eat the ice cream out of the tub.
