"You want me to accompany you to this, thing, for rich people? " you question, looking up at your overenthusiastic best friend. He quickly nodded, his curls shaking everywhere with a big smile.
Blushing, you chuckled, " Alright. But no guarantee that you'll not stick out with me since I'm not cold hard cash like someone I know, " you teased lightly, punching his shoulder softly.
" I don't care. You're my best friend, I want to take you, " he said, that big smile still on his face. You admired him; he was beautiful.
" Okay, " you breathily stated. " Great! " he exclaimed, pulling you up from the couch. " The party is tomorrow night at six, whatever you pay for your suit or dress or what you wear I'll be paying back to you, " he stated, holding your hands.
" Thomas, that's not right. I've got it, " you raised an eyebrow at his actions. " No, please, let me do this for you. I'm dragging you out on a Friday night, this is the least I could do. "
Sighing, you waved your hand, " Fine, but I'm only giving in because I know how you get, you'll not stop bothering me until I give up. "
Chuckling, he pulled you into a hug. " Sounds like me. Thank you, darlin', " he murmured into your hair. " Mm, of course, Jeffercunt, " you giggled at your nickname for him.
" Wow, way to ruin a moment. My feelings are extremely inflicted. I thought we were best friends! " he wailed, getting puppy dog eyes and wrapping his arms around your waist.
" Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry you nerd, " you rolled your eyes, tossing an arm over his shoulder and the other slithering around his side. He responded to your sass by picking you up.
" Netflix. The Office. Now! " he announced, carrying you to your room and setting you on the bed. He turned on the DVR and grabbed the remote, then cuddled into the bed, getting ready for a marathon with you.
Tugging on a couple spots on your (tux/dress/etc), you couldn't help but feel this was extremely out of the ordinary for you, and too expensive. You were used to on sale fancy outfits and mediocre touch-ups, like a watch, make up or any necklaces.
There were a couple knocks, causing you to rush out of your room towards your door, grabbing your wallet and keys and such on the way out. You opened the door to Thomas.
He had a lightly tinted purple button up under a black blazer, along with a dark purple tie. He had black pants and shoes. " Wow, someone can tidy up, " you teased, leaning against the doorway.
" Hardy har you dummy, " he retaliated, giving your shoulder a light push, " so can you. "
" Thanks, bud, " you smiled. " Mhm, " he said, putting out his arm for you. You gratefully took it, walking down to his car and driving to the event.
Pulling up, you gasped at the large mansion. Thomas simply chuckled, pulling up and parking. He got out and ran to your side, opening the door. " Thanks! " you said, tucking yourself into his side and walking in.
The mansion was already great from the outside, but the inside was even better. Chandeliers, people in elegant dresses and handsome tuxes, dancing.
" Thomas, good lord, this is out of my league! " you whispered into his ear, watching the people socialize and dance. " You're fine. Just relax, socialize. "
You and Thomas had gone around the room, talking and meeting others. You'd met many people, including his co-worker Aaron Burr.
At the end of the night, you'd been talking with what seemed to be a friendly group of people when they asked your career.
" Oh! Right now I'm currently working as a receptionist. I'm an author in work, " you chuckled, the group looking at one another.
" Receptionist? That's not all that great. You must not make much. Thomas, where'd you find this one, on the street? " a man chuckled, everyone else in the group laughing except for Thomas and you.
" You shouldn't be here. We don't hang out with commoners like you, " his wife sneered, causing your eyes to go wide. You gritted your teeth and stormed out.
" (Y/N), wait! " Thomas exclaimed, going to run after you. " Thomas, why are you going after that? " someone asked, and he glared. " Snooty assholes, " he snorted, running after you.
You were leaning against his car, staring at the moon. Thomas walked up, standing against you. " I knew this wouldn't work from the beginning, " you commented, tears close to welling in your eyes. " Hey, don't say that. "
" You were getting along just fine with them. They decided to get all fucking insane on you. It's their fault, not yours, " he growled out.
" (Y/N), god damn, I love you. Not just best friends. I love you like, dating love you. So much, " he murmured, grabbing you and engulfing you.
You gladly held onto him, clinging into the fabric of his suit. " I love you too, Thomas, " you sighed out, inhaling his scent. " Let's go, " he said.
You were sitting at home in pajamas, wallowing in your bed. Thomas was taking a shower in your bathroom.
You let the mattress engulf you, humming in content laying in the soft bed. The door opened to the connected bathroom, steam escaping out. Thomas shook his mane of hair, only in boxers. You blushed.
" Oh, you little geek, you're my girlfriend now, gotta get used to all of this, " he motioned to his nearly naked body. " Girlfriend? I could get used to the sound of that, " you chuckled as he climbed into bed.
You nestled between his legs and lied against his chest. He slipped his arms under yours and got you even closer.
You pulled the sheets over both your legs and turned on the office. " Time to see how Pam and Jim are. "
" I can't wait until they get together, Tom. Like, it's obvious they like each other! And, ugh, I love them but they're paining me, " you groaned, looking up at him.
" Hm, doesn't that sound like a couple friends I knew at once? " he said.
" Hmm, possibly, " you noted, tapping your chin.
Ironically, that episode, some feelings were confessed.
