Chapter 9 ~ Terrible

~Scott~

Max growled at our beautiful little mate, and pulled her little body up against ours. "NO! He's always with you, I want to talk to you! I need you!" He snarled out through me. Nina grabbed my head between her small hands, and forced her lips onto ours. He growled and shoved her back into the bed underneath us. He was ecstatic at seeing her underneath us looking so sexy. She ripped our T-shirt off, throwing I have no idea where. Her hands threaded in our hair as Max started trailing kisses down her slim neck.

*Bro! You need to get to the pack house NOW!* Brax mind-linked me.

*Why?* I replied.

*They're here* Oh, fuck. I froze and pulled back from Nina. Max was panicked as well, and gave me control back, knowing I would handle this better than him.

"What's wrong? Scott? Max?" Our pretty little mate asked, frowning in concern. I couldn't tell her, I didn't want to worry her.

"Sorry for losing control, Nina, baby. It's me, Scott, I'm back," I hushed, pecking her forehead and softly stroking her hair back off her gorgeous face.

"What's wrong? You've never done that before."

"It's because you're so beautiful." I gave her my best, wide smile, winking.

"No, you just sort of froze, you usually just pull back."

I sighed heavily, "it's because Brax mind-linked me."

"And?"

I took a deep breath, "someone is at the pack house for me. I need to go now."

"Who is it?"

"My parents."

She gasped, and pulled me into her arms in an embrace. "Why are they here?" She asked quietly. I could feel that she was scared and nervous, and tried to comfort her.

"I don't know, baby. I really don't know. But it'll be fine. We'll get it all sorted out."

"Do you want me to go with you?"

"Do you mind?"

"Of course not. Of course I want to be there for you."

I smiled and kissed her sweetly. "Thank you, baby. Let's get dressed." I smirked and slid off her, picking up my T-shirt from off of the floor. I pulled it on as she hitched her towel back up, jumping off the bed and going to her drawers.

~Nina~

I threw on some black skinny jeans, a woolly grey jumper with some matching white lacy underwear. I slid on some Vans, and a tweed waist coat. Scott led me through the woods as we stayed in content conversation. As we approached the pack house, my grip of his arm tightened.

"Shh, it's okay, baby. Don't worry." He stopped in front of me and gently kissed my lips.

I nodded and took a deep breath. "Sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" He frowned.

"I shouldn't be the one who's nervous."

He smiled reassuringly, "no, it's fine. I completely understand. I'm just worried I won't be able to hold Max back. But, baby, if you see my eyes go black like before, go to Bridget. Please. Promise me."

I nodded, "okay, I promise." He kissed me again, but it was long and loving this time. He led me into the pack house, and to the meeting room. He had given me a tour quite a while ago, but I'm still learning my way. He opened the door, and let me in first. I took a deep breath and hesitantly stepped in. Scott was right behind me, shutting the door again. Brax was sat at the end of the table, looking bored out of his mind. A man and a woman sat next to each other on one side of the table, scowling. They looked around in their fifties, but could pass for older with all their frown lines. The man had salt and pepper hair, black hair with strands of white, as the woman had dark brown hair up in a tight business-like bun. The man's eyes were a deep green with hints of grey, as the woman's were a dull black. It was quite frightening. The woman's features were small and sharp, giving an intimidating look. The man's features were hard and emotionless, save for the fact that he was scowling. With his hand on my lower back, Scott pushed me forward to a seat across from the woman, his mother, I was guessing, nearest to Brax. Brax gave me a small reassuring smile, as I slid down into the seat. Scott took a seat in the chair next to me, his hand holding mine under the table.

"Scott! It's lovely to see you again!" His mother exclaimed.

"Hello, mother, father," Scott replied, emotionless. "What are you doing here?"

"We want you back," Scott's father cut straight to the point.

"No."

"Well, w-why not?" His mother stuttered.

"My life is here. I don't want to go back to you. I ran away for a reason, I don't want to go back with you."

"Scott, you will come back with us-"

"Jack! I am nineteen, I don't have to do what you tell me to anymore. That finished when I left you all those years ago."

"Scott!" His father bellowed and I whimpered quietly, so only Scott could hear me.

"Dad! Stop shouting!" He put an arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his side. I buried my face into his shoulder, my arms around his neck as he pulled me onto his lap.

"Who. Is. This?!" His mother screeched, making me wince at how high pitched her voice was.

"My mate, so fuck off back to wherever the hell you live and let me live my life here!"

"She's your mate?! She's not even a wolf!" Scott's father yelled, shoving his chair back as he stood up. Brax stood up too, on high alert.

"Sit back down, Braxton!" Vivian, Scott's mother, as he had previous told me, yelled. Brax didn't reply, just stared at Jack, Scott's father, also told to me by Scott.

"Yes! I know, she's not a wolf! But I love her, and there's no chance I'm leaving her!" Then, I got an idea. If his parents saw how much Scott and I loved each other, then they may leave it alone.

"Please don't leave me, Scott," I whispered. He looked down at me with love, looking into my bright blue eyes. Then, I saw his lips twitch in a slight smile, and guessed he figured out what I was doing.

"Never, princess. I'll never leave you. Don't you worry about that." He pecked my lips, lingering longer than necessary, then pulling away when Jack scoffed. Scott abruptly stood up, placing me gently on the floor in front of him.

"Get the fuck out of here Dad, before I rip you limb from limb." I looked up into his eyes, and saw them quickly turning black. I hurriedly spun on my heel and ran up to Bridget and Brax's bedroom, remembering what Scott made me promise earlier. I ran into their bedroom, and saw Bridget laid back on their king sized bed, reading a magazine she was holding above her. She put it down when I came in and sat up. I sat next to her after taking the precaution to shut the door behind me.

"How's the meeting going?" She asked with a smirk.

"Well, my mate has just threatened to rip his father limb from limb, and your mate is just ready to launch at any second."

She laughed freely, and I joined in. "Anyway, how's everything going with you?" She asked when she calmed down.

"Good! You?"

She hesitated, "um, I have something to tell you..."
