Chapter 19 ~ Remembering

I glanced out over the garden, as I sat on the rocking chair with Elijah. I looked up at him and smiled as he glanced at the garden also, his eyes far away.

"I'm happy I've found you," I smiled, and he turned to me.

"I'm happy I've finally found you too," he grinned, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

"Can you remember anything?" I asked, looking up at him with wide eyes.

"Hmm, some things, they come in flashes when I'm awake, but mostly I have the dreams when I'm asleep. Some things are nice and happy, as others are sad and just depressing."

I nodded, taking a deep, shaky breath. "We were so young, Elijah. We had our whole lives ahead of us."

"I know, but look at us now. It's like we've gotten a second chance at life. I mean, we're older, we've got mates. We have great lives, but..."

"It would be good to live our other lives too," I finished off his sentence for him quietly.

He nodded, looking around the garden.

"I wish we could meet our parents again," I whispered.

"And they remember us," he added, understanding. "I had a memory earlier. I was young and was in the hospital. I was standing next to a bed, and Dad was next to me, smiling, so proud. Then he lifted me up onto the bed, where Mom was laid, holding a bundle inside a blanket. She smiled at me, and said, 'Say hi to your little sister, Nina, Eli.' I was grinning so hard as she lowered the bundle to me, and I saw a little pink baby's face with a cute pink hat on. You had your eyes closed, then suddenly opened them, and I saw your beautiful blue eyes. You held onto my finger with your small hand, then started giggling, with the cutest smile on your face. I felt all the emotions I'd felt in that moment. Protectiveness, love, happiness, and I felt so proud," he smiled wistfully.

I smiled, looking up into his eyes, wrapping my arms around his waist. "I've missed you, big brother." He looked down at me and grinned.

"I've missed you too, baby sis," he replied and kissed my forehead lovingly.

"Would you want to do this? I mean, go up to Heaven for 24 hours and find our parents?"

He shrugged, looking around. "We could try and get Angel Lucius and Angel Percy to communicate with them so they can talk to us?"

"It might work," I whispered, watching as petals from a blossom tree that bordered from the garden onto the forest fall into a bird's water bath.

He suddenly gasped, sitting up straight. "I've got it!" He exclaimed.

"What? Elijah?" I called as he stood up. He took my hand, pulling me up then dragged me back into the pack house to the large dining hall where everyone else was talking.

"Damien, have you got Uriah's number?" Elijah asked as he rushed in with me in tow.

"Yeah, why?" Damien replied slowly, frowning with confusion.

"I need it, I've got an idea." Damien retreated to his office and retrieved the number before re-entering the room and giving it to Eli, who already had his phone ready in his hand. He dialed it in, then called it, his leg bouncing as he sat on one of the table chairs. Scott glanced at me, confused but I just shrugged, perching in the chair next to Elijah's.

"Uriah, have you still got connections to Heaven?" Eli rushed out once the guy answered.

"Yeah, of course I have, idiot," a deep voice replied through the phone that I heard because I was close to him.
