Chapter 18 ~ Acquaintances

~Elijah~ (Surprise!!)

Erin dragged me down the stairs by the hand as I huffed, my brow furrowed in a scowl. Every time we want to have time to ourselves, something always has to interrupt, I think Damien's doing it on purpose now. Yes, we've mated, but whenever we try to just be alone or have sex, something always interrupts.

"Damien?" She called as we walked to the living room. She strolled in, then dragged me in. I stopped, my eyes scanning over the unfamiliar group in front of me, then paused when I saw her.

She was wearing some dark blue jeans, a thin pale blue T-shirt and a knitted hoodie. She had the same colour hair as me, and it fell down her shoulders in loose curls and waves, and her bold baby blue eyes watched me, a small smile playing on her small pink lips. She looked so different from the dream I had last night, of my six year-old self chasing her three year-old self into a meadow, then our parents walked in. They looked so young, and youthful, and it broke my heart to know that such a young family-my family-died in a terrible house fire. Angel Lucius, the angel who raised me in Heaven, came into my dream of seeing the burning house and not being able to save anyone in it, and told me of my death, how he'd seen it, witnessed it and picked me up from my placement in Heaven. He also told me a little about Nina and how she'd found her own mate in the pack over, and I guess that's the guy stood behind my little sister now, with his arms wrapped loosely around her waist.

"Nina?" I whispered.

She smiled, "hi brother."

"H-how?" I stuttered, ignoring everyone else in the room except my little sister.

"Angel Percy visited me in a dream, told me about everything."

"You too? Angel Lucius visited me in a dream and told me about it. Can you remember anything before he told you?"

She shook her head, "no, I started having dreams not long ago, then he finally visited and told me." She hesitated. "Do you think Mom and Dad remember us?"

I frowned and sighed, "our minds are usually erased, they probably won't."

"How come they remember each other then?"

"The link," Damien spoke up and we all looked at him in confusion. "Once in Heaven angels feel links to people that they were close with on Earth. If neither of you had been kicked out and become fallen angels, and found your parents, then they would most likely feel the link, telling them that you were close. They'd soon figure out that you were their children."

"Once their close family member is made a fallen angel, then the others still in Heaven will forget them all together," the guy stood behind Nina said-her mate, I'm guessing.

"Well they must at least feel something if we can somehow get a hold of them," Nina pushed, a small look of desperation in her eyes as she looked between Damien, her mate and myself.

"To do that, it would mean for you both to be granted access back into Heaven," another guy said, and was sat next to a tired-looking woman.

"Is there a way we could do that? Even temporarily? Just to find them," I asked.

"Yes," the other guy with them, stood to the side, mumbled. "Fallen angels are temporarily allowed to visit Heaven for twenty-four hours, before they get sent back. If we get both Nina and Elijah back into Heaven for those twenty-four hours, they may be able to find their parents."

"We don't know what quadrant of Heaven they were sent to," Nina said, as I nodded in agreement.

"Quadrant?" Damien and the guy to the side asked together.
