"No way, so is Jace ok?" I was currently on the phone to Max. I had woken up at 7 o'clock and I knew that early that Josh and Roxy wouldn't be awake. They never wake up early. So, because I didn't want to be lonely, I phoned Max.
"Well, yeah. I mean his pride is a little hurt but who could blame him. He got tripped up on the stairs, by a girl walking up said stairs."
"Did Lizzie even realise she had done it?"
"Well she burst into my room laughing her head off, so I am guessing she did." Max laughed.
"You better not be as crazy as your twin."
"Don't worry, I am crazier."
"Kill me now." I groaned, causing Max to laugh.
"Toni, when am I going to see you again? I haven't seen you since that dinner and it was three days ago."
Just then, Roxy knocked on my door. She came in and looked an utter mess. I knew Roxy so I knew she wouldn't let anyone see her without make-up on so to see her like that, I knew something was wrong.
"Hey, listen Max. I have to go."
"No you don't, you haven't told me when I get to see you again."
"Come to the cottage tonight or something but I really need to go. Love you, bye."
"Love you too." I heard his voice through the phone and hung up.
Turning to Roxy, I got a better look at her. Her eyes were red and puffy, showing she had been crying; there was left over traces of yesterday's make-up; she was in last night's clothes and a proper bed head. I quickly sat her on my bed and gave her a bottle of water that was on my side. I wrapped a blanket around her before sitting on the bed as well. Facing her, I crossed my legs.
"Roxy, are you ok? What's wrong?"
She shook her head before bursting into tears, placing her head on my shoulder. I rubbed my hand up and down her back slowly shushing her. In all my years of knowing her, I had never seen her like this.
"Hey come on, you can tell me."
She lifted her head and I looked at her usually light brown eyes, that today, were dark. Very dark.
"Last night, while we were out, Josh and I had a massive argument. When we came in, you were already asleep. I slept on the sofa last night."
"Oh, Roxy. It will blow over."
"Nothing like this has ever happened though, Toni."
"Listen, see if you can get some sleep on my bed, you must be exhausted. That sofa isn't that comfy."
I watched as my friend crawled under the covers and slowly hugged my pillow. I silently closed the door and walked downstairs. Putting on the kettle, I leaned against the counter and put my head in my hands. I heard the stairs creak and looked up to see Josh coming down, looking like nothing had happened. I poured him a cup of tea and pushed it into his hands. Walking away from him, I sat down on the sofa and drank my tea in silence.
"What's up with you Toni?" He sat down next to me.
"What's up with me? What's up with you? I had a knock on my door this morning and came face to face with my best friend in a state. A state you had put her in. She looked like she had been up half the night because of this fight you had last night. She is currently sleeping in my bed because you left her to sleep on the sofa!"
"I'm sorry." He said.
"It shouldn't be me you are apologising to." I got up and placed my cup on the side.
I quickly pulled on my trainers, thankful I had got dressed that morning. Before Josh could say anything, I walked out and slammed the door.
Walking through the woods, I realised that I didn't really know where I was going. Pulling out my phone, I quickly text Max asking if I could come over and of course, he agreed. Slowly making my way through the woods, I admired the beauties that the pack had. Maybe, one day, this would be my home. But to be honest, my home was going to be wherever Max was.

I waited by the door so that I was the only one that could let Toni in. As she knocked on the door, I quickly opened it and looked at her. She was in jogging bottoms and an oversized hoodie, her hair had just been brushed down and left loose. I laughed as I took her upstairs and she looked confused. In my room she looked around while I kept looking at her clothes.
"Will you actually stop looking at my clothes?" She sighed turning round to face me.
"I was just wondering why you were wearing those kind of clothes."
"They're my comfy clothes. I got into these when I woke up and I was going to change. However, due to certain circumstances, I had to get out of the house in these clothes."
"Well, I don't care what you are dressed in. You look beautiful anyway." I suddenly pulled her onto my lap and she giggled. "They are comfy and snuggly." I said as I hid my face in her hoodie.
For a while, we just laid on my bed and talked. Talked about our lives, interests and things we thought the other should know. I told her that I had never had a girlfriend because I was saving myself for my mate. She told me that she had a boyfriend for a while before he found his mate. She assured me, though, that the worst they did was kiss. We talked about our siblings and I found out that I wouldn't have to worry about being killed by either of her brothers.
While we were talking, there was a knock on the door. I quickly looked at Toni and then back to the door.
"Who is it?"
"Your twin. I would hope you would know this was me." Lizzie shouted through the door and I could sense that Toni had relaxed next to me.
"Come in, Lizzie."
I watched as my twin entered the room. She smiled at me before looking at my mate.
"Oh, hello. I didn't expect to see you here, Toni."
"Spur of the moment thing." Toni shrugged.
"Have you hidden her in here all day?"
"It's not hiding......exactly." I sighed. Who was I kidding? I was hiding her.
"If I was you,Max, I would tell mum you were mated, ASAP." With that, Lizzie left. I didn't even find out what she wanted in the first place.
Toni then turned to my and smiled.
"You can tell your family if you want."
"Do you wanna do it now?" I asked looking into her eyes.
She looked down at herself. "I may be in comfy clothes, but the are not nice clothes. We can do it tomorrow, deal?"
"Deal." I nodded. I quickly hugged her before she left. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.
