~Toni
It had been an hour since I had tried to phone Max and I was really worried about him. All I wanted was to see him, take away some of the pain. Josh and Roxy were round at mine for the evening as my parents were having a house party downstairs. Half the pack were round, whether it was my friends and my brother's friends, if I could say Alec had friends, in our bedrooms or my parents' friends downstairs, at least half of the pack were at ours. I had some music on the try and drown out the music while we all had some food and alcohol. We had minimal alcohol as most of the adults were going to be dying of a major hangover with the amount my parents left downstairs.
Well somebody told me you had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential, I've got potentialI watched as Roxy drunkenly danced next to my bed and turned to Josh.
"You aren't married yet, you can leave her."
Josh and I laughed as Roxy looked at us confused. It was obvious that she hadn't heard us. That was when my phone started ringing. 'Touch' by Little Mix alerted me that it was Max ringing. I quickly took a swig from my bottle before placing it down, turning the music down.
"Max?"
"No, sorry. It's me. Jason." Max's brother's voice came through the phone.
"Oh, right. What's up, Jace?" Roxy sent me a quizzical look and I shrugged my shoulders at her.
"I am worried about my brother. He keeps pretending like he is ok but he isn't."
"Jace, what are you getting at?"
"Will you come? I am sure he needs you."
"If Max wanted me there, he would've asked me. He would have told me. But no, I was left to find out at a pack meeting."
"I know my brother. If he asked you to come to him to help, especially as he will be needed to step into the role of Alpha, he would think that people would see him as weak. If you came, he would feel so much better."
"Well Jace, I have currently had a bit to drink so I probably shouldn't drive. I will come in the morning.Text me your number from Max's phone so I can communicate with you in the morning. Bye.Wait, hang on what do you mean he thinks a girl helping him would make him seem weak?"
"Bye, see you tomorrow." Jace ended the call, avoiding my question, and shortly after, I received a message with Jace's number. I saved it on my phone and then turned to my friends.
Roxy looked at me expectantly and I just sighed.
"Jace thinks that Max is hiding the fact that he needs me. Jace asked if I would go tomorrow and i can't exactly say no. Can we get back to partying?"
My two friends chorused a solid yes and started the music again. Josh and Roxy started prancing about on my bed and pulled me up from where I was sitting, to join in. We danced on the bed until one of my favourite songs came on. As soon as the song came on, we looked at each other, placed our drinks down and jumped on the bed, crazily.
Watching the people get lairy
It's not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
It's not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never of happened to Smeaton
An old leodensian
I predict a riot
I predict a riot
I predict a riot
I predict a riotThe three of us were jumping around, singing and probably looked like toddlers. Suddenly, I heard my door slam shut. Sniffing, I smelled my brother's scent.
"I'm going to kill him." I growled, running into my brother's room. I could see him uploading a video of us onto a werewolf social media website. Growling, I turned and left, not bothering with arguing with him, knowing it would be useless. I would have to look at the video the next morning. Morning. The time when I get to be in my mate's arms again. I couldn't wait.
Waking up, I literally fell on top of Roxy, who was on a spare single mattress below my bed. I looked to see that Josh was in a sleeping bag near the door. Surprisingly, even with me falling on her, Roxy didn't wake up. Careful not to disturb the sleeping beauties, I quickly got out of my room and went downstairs. Nobody else was up which didn't shock me after last night. I could see the destruction of the last night with bottles and rubbish all over. Managing to get myself some breakfast, I cleared some room on the sofa and sat down. I grabbed my phone to see that I didn't have any messages before heading back upstairs. Going into my room, I saw a my best friends cuddling and kissing on my bed.
"You better not have done anything else on my bed?" I warned.
"Why would we? Oh and you need to tidy your room." Roxy told me.
"Why?"
"Well, there are more pizza boxes, pop bottles and sweet wrappers under your bed than actually carpet." She laughed.
"Right, I'm going to get dressed and then I'm going. If mum and dad aren't up before me, tell them where I have gone and I love them yeah?"
"Yeah." Roxy said before hugging me. "Text me when you get there."
"Will do."
I quickly ran into the bathroom to get dressed and then grabbed my helmet and keys for my motorbike. Going out to the garage, I ran my hand over my bike. Pulling my phone out, I texted Jace to tell him I was setting off and then climbed onto my ride. This drive to the pack was going to be one of the longest journeys I have done on my bike but I was sure going to love the drive.

Pulling up at the pack border, I sensed that Jace was around.
"Come on out, Jace." I shouted. Suddenly, the younger wolf appeared. Jace wasn't that younger than me and I preferred him to Ruby who was nearer my age.
"Neat ride." He said looking my bike up and down.
"Are we going to go to the house then?" I asked Jace.
"Yeah but the thing is I ran here so..." He looked up at me. Taking off my helmet, I let my hair rustle in the wind.
"I have never fallen off but I ma not letting a passenger that could easily fall off go on without a helmet. Hop on." I said, handing it to Jace.
"You sure?"
"Just get on the bike."
The drive from the border to the main house wasn't far at all. Jace let me park my bike in their private garage before letting me into the house. He let me run up to his room to get out of my leather before seeing Max. His room was like I would expect. It had posters of she-wolves and even some posters of human football teams. It seemed to be a typical teenager's room.
Walking down the stairs, in my leggings and t-shirt, I saw Jace look up.
"He's in the office if you want to go in."
I nodded before going over to the office door. Knocking, I waited. I could hear Max inside but he hadn't yet invited me in. Suddenly, I heard him sniffing, he could smell my scent. Opening the door, he took in my appearance, making sure I was real. When he realised I was actually there, he pulled me into a hug. Despite the height difference, he cried into my shoulder. So it was better, he lifted me up and sat me on the desk. We stayed like that for a while, nobody talking. As he pulled away, he looked into my eyes.
"I am so glad you are here." He sighed, a tear falling down his face.
"What's this about being weak if I helped and protected you?" I asked smiling a little, wiping the tear away.
He smiled before looking me straight into the eyes. "I was wrong. I need you. I will always need you. Please don't ever let me say that I don't need you."
"I will always be here for you. That is what I am here for. Best fighter, remember? I will always want to protect you." I said, wrapping my hands around his waist.
"I love you, Toni."
"I love you, Max." I said, kissing him on the lips.
