Jay was screaming a song at the top of his lungs that he had had stuck in his head for three days, and Murray was pissy. His wife was mad at their daughter because she wanted an abortion because the father of her child was in prison, and when Murray's wife was mad, pressure was put on Murray to resolve the issues in their family. Murray was definitely not good under pressure.Vienna was getting fed up with Jay, but she had been a good mood that morning, and she was determined that nothing could change it.
"SOMETIMES I'M MY OWN WORST ENEMY! ALL I GOT IS SOME BLURRED OUT MEMORIES! SOMETIMES I'M MY OWN WORST ENEMY, DAMN." Jay yelled.
"Jay! I swear to almighty forces, that if you do not shut the hell up, I will fire you!" Murray shouted from his office, causing Jay to fade away his voice. "We sell music so we can listen to art, and don't have to listen to idiots like you screech with prepubescent voices!" Murray continued. Jay frowned, and Vienna swore she saw tears cloud in the corner of his eyes.
Jay was a roughed up kid. He had spent most of his life acting like he was fine. His mother was a drug dealer, and his father had been out of the picture for as long as he could remember. He didn't really have any other family, besides a sister that had overdosed in her junior year of university, and died. His escape was the music shop, where he could get pay, and enjoy something that was beneficial to his creative side. He was determined not to end up like his mother. He had always looked to Murray as a father figure, and to hear Murray insult him for having fun, well it wasn't a good feeling.
"Jay, I'm sure he didn't mean that." Vienna whispered, trying to appease him.
"It doesn't matter, I don't give a crap." Jay brushed off, ignoring the gnawing feeling in his chest as he always had.
Vienna frowned at the younger boy, and gave him a quick embrace before moving to rearrange some of the records. Jay just sat behind the cash register, his frown set on his phone.
Vienna's mind was focused on her job, her thoughts occasionally drifting off to Venice's symptoms, and Harry. But other than that, she was pretty much focused. Her hair would sometimes fall in her face as her head would go back and forth between the vinyls, and she would brush it. She heard Jay singing a couple more times, but they were extremely hushed tones, and every time she looked at him as he was singing, he would immediately stop. Then she would go back to work, and start worrying about Jay and Venice.
Venice was actually Vienna's younger sibling, but she looked to Jay as if he was a younger brother. To see him so upset and trying to act as if he wasn't made her sad. She hoped that a simple comment wouldn't affect Murray and Jay's relationship, but she had a feeling that Jay was more sensitive than he let on. She just didn't want to see them have bad blood, and have it change the aura of the happy music shop.
Her fingers danced along the pieces of cardboard covering the valuable vinyls. The bell to the store rang out, and she heard Jay let out a greeting. She didn't really look up, too focused on organizing the shelves.
All of a sudden, she felt hands grip her hips, pulling her against a body, and she assumed it was Harry. She relaxed into his torso, until cologne hit her, and her senses froze. Hands that were pressed into her hips moved toward her pelvic bone, and she blinked rapidly. She was stuck, frozen in her own skin and she couldn't do anything about it.
"You miss me, little mama?"
^oh shitttttt. so i honestly am the worst and took over a week to write this and i'm sorry. but i literally am the worst at writing stuff leading up to drama, so oh well *smirks*^
